I'll stick w/ 50A for now, but know I can put a 60A breaker in down the road is enormously helpful. Not sure what size AC I'll be installing, but figured I'd need the output of the 803a for it (802a helps, just not enough "oomph" to...
Anyone trying to figure out how to "drop a ground rod", it's easy. Good videos on making a ground rod water drill on youtube.
You buy a 5/8" female hose adapter and a 10 foot length of conduit. Tap the adapter into the conduit. Wrap tape around conduit at 2' 6" from hose end. You can also...
Judging from the corrosion around it, it’s not likely to be the ONLY thing stuck, frozen, damaged.
Get your favorite brand of penetrating oil (Penetro 90, Kroil, ATF/acetone, whatever) and go to town.
Consider investing in stainless steel fittings for the rest of the genset.
Keep us posted...
One of the posts mentioned the federal color code/ID which I took to Home Depot. I bought a quart of recommended Behr outdoor paint (flat, ultra, et. cetera), and have been using it to coat my MEP803a which is just about done.
Once prepped (lightly sanded w/ a 3M green scouring pad and...
You'd be amazed what FEDEX handles, or FASTENAL. I've seen entire muffler/exhaust units (from downpipes to exhaust tip) wrapped in kraft paper with a FEDEX label attached to it on the delivery truck before. Most I've ever had shipped was some internal door panels for my wife's car, those were...
What smokem joe said.
You shouldn’t put riv nuts in those places. Alignment’s not going to work out for all of ‘em when you try to assemble things.
Notice the square captive nuts in many places have some play in the design to avoid this.
TM 9-6115-642-10 0003 ENGINE STARTING SYSTEM – CONTINUEDthrough the starter solenoid which in turn is controlled by the cranking relay. The starter then engages the engine flywheel causing the engine to turn over. For engine starting, the DEAD CRANK switch must be in the NORMAL position, the DC...
1500 pages is one and a half reems of paper, about $7 at your local bigbox office supply place. Plus laser printer cartridge output.I used printers at work and printed out nearly 5,000 pages of HMMWV and Generator manuals, bought about $60 worth of D-ring binders.Gotta improvise.NB
With most things at least color coded if not already numbered, you're right, and it's always good to check someone else's work just to be safe. What I've learned to do with electric/electronic projects is take photos before I start so I'll know how to reassemble.I've rebuilt several guitar...
I like that idea, a LOT.Something in the same Military font like:Steel SoldiersDate of Manufacture: [insert establishment date here in final product]Country of Origin: USALike ammo cans and packing crates.
May be a trick of the light, but the transducer (center) looks newer to my eye.Maybe it was taken out, cleaned or just wiped off, tested, replaced, or it WAS replaced, which is why the lines were tagged, to ensure they went back in the right spot. Can you read what was written on them?

I've looked around, a LOT, can't find anything specifically forbidding civilian sales, except the NSA levels of data security/encryption seems like they aren't legal in non state-actors' hands.
I'm pretty sure what...
You‘re unable to RECEIVE?
You should be able to bring in a signal with a wet noodle as an antenna, random length of wire even. Make sure there‘s a counterpoise (random wire) on the ground side of the BNC or PL259 connector.
If it‘s not pulling in a signal al all, it‘s either broken, or locked...
The pops and creaking and pain from your knees and arches will answer that question.
I can hardly remember a time in my life when my joints didn't make sound effects like a gang of professional foley artists moved in under the radar and went to work on a soundtrack for an earthquake disaster...
