The frame rails are 32.5", measured to the outside of the C channels. The C channel is approximately 2.5" wide.

I would second that guess. There is a breather up on top, but the guy at Allison said you would have to basically directly spray water on it to get any into the transmission. Of course the breather could be missing and the truck was ran through some deep water. Never know...

Duckworthe, your Unimog camper build, is that posted online somewhere by chance? I looked at a build like you describe and wondered if by chance that was you.

I did the same thing and used some zip ties on the harness in mine. I was in there to grease the throttle linkage to see if it would move easier and noticed how the wiring harness was really close.

I got lucky and mine came with 6TAGM batteries, less than a year old!

Could you maybe use a balancing ring mounted behind the wheel instead of the media in the tire? My truck says it weighs almost 19k, but I haven't put it on a scale either.
