I know you dont need 5 of them, but only place I see them for sale new right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/124183942354
I may have one on a spare 802 engine I have, untested.
What model Kubota?
You are right, its a normally open contact switch. Been a few years since I have had to swap one out. Its one item that rarely goes bad, but does happen.
Probably the cheapest way to go: https://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb-capacity-mesh-deck-steel-wagon-60359.html
And you may even have room to use a jerry can holder at either end of the generator as well.
Home heating oil is #2 with a blended amount of kerosene for its antigelling properties. Best to add a heavy dose of a lubricity agent, only if you care about the fuel delivery components. It will just make the parts last longer. I would dose the onboard tank, as it refills.
Anything Lister you can get from the UK based dealer Sleeman and Hawken https://www.sleeman-hawken.com/.
Cracked lines will just hemmorage fuel, as they are pressurized from the fuel pump. Lines aren't the issue here.
You may be able to rebuild, a question for the dealer. Will need to have a...
A machine that I have had here for a number of years, that has finally come up to be moved out. Its not a turn key ready machine, but is an excellent unit for someone in the northeast who is willing to put some elbow grease in. The good and the bad below:

Runs and makes power (not load...
I would pull all 4 metering pumps out and test each for ease of rotation of the pin assembly (as shown above). To do this properly, you need to back the top set screw off a bit (so when the fuel rack is fully pulled left, it can go slightly more left). Pull all 4 out and test (remember location...
Could use something as simple as a wall thimble for a pellet stove: https://www.homedepot.com/p/DuraVent-PelletVent-3-in-Wall-Thimble-3PVL-WT/100679724
If its close enough to weld you could always cut vertical slits into the exhaust pipe, and use a heavy duty band clamp to tighten it up and take up some of the space with contraction/distortion to make it a tight fit. More than one way to skin a cat.
If you are going to use a piece of exhaust pipe, just find an exhaust shop to flare out a piece of metal to the diameter you need. Should be pretty easy if they have a flaring machine. Or they can flare out what you have, if its not too large of a jump. Either way I think you can make it work.
Thinking outside the box, not sure its the greatest idea but you could always find a conduit coupler with a spread clamp on one side (to go onto BI already on the machine) and use EMT instead on the way up? Lighter for certain.
