Got my new exhaust from TMG installed today, she has a deep throaty sound now, only gone on a quick test run but I do believe my EGT has dropped a little.
Second mission today was to change my little black ABS box, got it changed and my ABS light went out after 2-3 seconds of power on, I was on...
The rear tail/stop light are Grote LED Brake Lights, I had the lights but needed buckets, 162tcat came to the rescue and helped me out with the buckets. The front are Truck Lite LED amber. All are military style, the Grote's bolted right to the old military buckets.
Finished installing LED turn and tail/stop light, already installed the side LED markers.
Tomorrow I'll install my new exhaust from TMG, and do a little write up.
Just tweaked the top fuel adjustment and adjusted the throttle linkage, linkage was basically set to min, I broke the jam nut and started turning, not sure how many turns I went but linkage did not fall apart in my hands so guess I did not go too far...
I have another ABS Module but I'll "try"...
Been a busy few days, turned up the fuel and adjusted the throttle linkage, she feels much better now, acceleration is much better and I don't feel like I'm trying to push a hole in the floor to get up to 55 mph.
Fixed a cut wire on the back of the ABS light, now it stays on, started trouble...
Crawled back under my truck today and checked the air lines for the front wheel drive lock in, they were connected wrong, just as in the other thread about how to check and see if front wheels were engaged or not. Before I swapped the lines in question I followed the checks and my truck failed...
Reference my post #5547, I was able to repair the switch, it is a sealed unit but what I found was deteriorated insulation which I covered with heat shrink and put it all back together, now just need to adjust the arm a little to get the warning horn to stop right when I lower the parking brake...
Got started on the fix for my Flashing Parking Brake issue, found the problem thanks to The Hulk and some digging in the TM's. Turned out to be the parking Brake Pressure Switch (the little switch that completes the ground when you lower the Parking Brake Handle.
Now to figure out how to...
Rebuilt my Air Dryer today.
External canister was not in bad shape, small internal filter had the insides covered with something resembling a combination of grease, water and oil. Drain plug was dry and clean, but really, a 5/16 square key way to get it out, first for me. Only real issue was...
Problem solved ? Not sure what I did to get her working again but here is what I did.
1) Disconnected the line from Gov to un loader, it was dry. Reconnected line.
2) Disconnected the out put line from compressor, it was making air (pulses) Reconnected line.
3) Followed the line to the Air...
I did notice a little moisture around the expello valve last week but no moisture came out when i drain tanks.
I do have a rebuild kit for the dryer, it is on my list of things to do, guess it just got bumped up to top.
Thanks
Oh I hope not, unless it is serviceable and not requiring a new compressor. I'll try to dig in more tomorrow and see if compressor is blowing air. I assume I'll just need to disconnect at output line from compressor.
With the truck running I crawled under and there was no air coming out of the expello valve.
I have not disconnected any lines from compressor yet, that will be tomorrows mission weather permitting. Also will pressurize tanks tomorrow and recheck for air leaks.
Started driving and building...
Need help, I've found plenty of issues where air builds up to +/- 60psi but in my case it does not build up any pressure. I can service the tanks from an external source, I do not hear any air leaking, truck drives normal with each application of brakes bleeding down the air as normal but no air...
Got a few items fixed on my 5 ton, Alternator changed out to civi and it's working. Fuel gauge and sender changed now I know how much fuel I have, got both headlights changed out to H4's so I can see better, next step to change out both temp gauges and both air pressure gauges on panel, fix or...
