Ready to test the new configuration

Actually members of a particular political party make great dead weight. Heck, you don't even have to strap them down. They automatically attach like leaches. :)

Be careful with moved center of gravity and weight carried higher.

Anyone have a recommendation for towing a m1082 with an F150?

I recently had a tote filled with about #2000 of fluid slide to the back of my 5 x 10 trailer. It shifted from the middle of the trailer to the back and the trailer started fishtailing all over. It went from stable to dangerous in 1 second. It was a white knuckle day, for me and the people...

Anyone have a recommendation for towing a m1082 with an F150?

Sounds like if I get it, best have it shipped from NC or TX. My m1088 needs more work before road trusty.

Not sure if it is possible, but anyone have a hitch recommendation (brand) for picking up a M1082 with an f150?

    Fuel filter heater questions

Just replaced the Rapco filter. I noticed the heater in fuel filter base. Is this triggered by a temp sensor in the unit itself, or an external trigger?

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

For those using the OEM line replacement and want to replace the straight and 90 degree fitting, the cost is about $20.50. I believe the part numbers are 6v8628 and 6v8647. I will double check those numbers tomorrow.

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Why would you want to connect it to the head? You want that portion as sound dead as possible. Connecting to the head will increase the intensity of the vibration. I'd anchor off something else and dampen the clamp inside with butyl rubber.

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

I just put that part on yesterday. It's genuine CAT. After examining it and how it fits, I am going to replace both fitting at each end. I am talking to CAT this AM. The O rings appear flattened / worn down. Metric O rings did not fit theses parts well. Possibly SAE. Nevertheless, I am realizing...

UPPER and LOWER cab bushings ! Has anyone made replacements out of heavy rubber?

Since it is just a round donut, just make a couple out of polyurethane.

Clamp with dynamat dampener maybe.. Love physics. I'm going to test my tube for cracks with magnaflux. Just have not gotten to it yet.

Maybe dampen with dynamat or similar?

Or resonance between the engine and component.
