Hi Military6,
I checked the parts list and I do not see the transmission control module listed. I checked several variations of the name and I guess it is included with the trans. So I cannot help with the part numbers.
Here are two photos from the "glove box", which is the module you are...
The truck has the regular car battery clamps. Mine were corroded but I think it would be hard to find a replacement. So 2 regular post type batteries will work. The battery box is over sized to fit the military batteries. I had brought some hard plastic foam to stick under the batteries to bring...
7 Tons of Fun,
You will need two 12 volt batteries. I also put in some fuel additive to clean out any gunk in the lines and in the injectors. My son cleaned the windshield in and out because it was VERY dirty. You should bring some new windshield wipers and a gallon of the windshield washer...
MAdams,
Nice video and a great idea on how to attach a trailer receiver to the truck. I like that no mods were done to the truck! Are you going to be selling these trailer hitches?
On the emissions, I don't think they needed to do anything. There was nothing on the paperwork that said it was needed for emissions. So I am not sure if they just did something to make it pass or if the laws in Utah allow for model year 2003 to have some leniency. I still think it should not...
On my second truck I am thinking of trying a different fuild in the tranny. It is a parts truck so I will not be putting a lot of miles on it but i would be interested to see if it shifts differently.
My truck shifts hard now although it shifts better now that the weather is a little warmer...
I finally got my truck back from the dealer and it cost me almost $2000 but it passed emissions and safety. So now I need to pass my CDL and I will be set.

WHAT!!!! How did you do that? And why didn't you tell ME! :)
I could have saved a ton of time if I could register in another state. Did you register commercial? If you register as a personal vehicle then I think you need a MT address.
Jon
DirtyDirk,
My truck is still in the shop for Safety and Emissions. They found a few things that need to be fixed before it will pass safety. Most I knew about.
I keep asking them about the emissions and I tell them to do it first but it seems like they are not doing the emissions. I pray that...
I washed my truck because I wanted mine to look good like Elijah's! But after I washed it, I had problems with the dash lights and instruments because, I found out later, all the breakers had tripped. Even with the breakers tripped, I could still drive back home. My speedo was not working but in...
"Could there be a PCB inside the horizontal aluminum piece? "
It didn't look like it and I was wondering if there was a PCB in there why put it outside when there is room in the cab. I think it is just a junction box.
I washed my truck and after I started it again, all my dash gauges were not working and all the lights were on. The alarms were going off too. I have always thought that was a loose connector or something grounding out. So I guess some water got somewhere it should not have. When I was looking...
My SF-97 did not have any notation about on-road or off road use. The documents from the US Marine Corp did say for off road use but I think that is because they will not certify that the trucks will pass emissions. Here is the SF-97 I received for my truck and some of the unique information is...
To clarify, I am not sure if my SF-97 was marked off road only but I received documents from the Marines that said the vehicle was for off road only. I can check my SF-97 tonight.
MAdams,
Well, I did finally get my SF-97 and it is a nice looking document. I have received SF-97s for other vehicles and I like the look of the document, They did a nice job on it - very fancy. I made a color copy of mine and I think I will frame it.
So, I went to the Utah DMV to register my...
