Many advices. All make somehow sence. But balance yout tires in a truck shop. thats the ultimate help. Tell them you problem and they will maintain it if they are willing to do do.

With propper batteries, propper pre glow equipment and engine oil with less than 5000 miles in one year (15 W 40 CE/SF or better grade) the engine should start without any problem down to 0° Fahrenheit or minus 18° Celsius. Last February I started at approx. - 22° Celsius at night at about 2 a...
Beside the system works well as long as new, the system has a age problem. Over 120000 miles and a age of 20 years the glow plug controller starts to fail. Some of the electrolytic capacitors refuse to do their job for they are dried out. So the controller fails. If you exceede the glowing time...
An A2 Chassis has the 8 bolt pattern you look for and a overrun (inertia)brake system as well. The overrun system is good for some 6000 lbs (it is stamped on the left side of the head after you removed all the colour). If you succed to fit the larger body on the chassis, it is ok. But I do not...
I love this thematics, for they not so very difficult to solve when you know something about brake systems.
First: The brake system in question is a so called air over hydraulic system.
Second: The max. air pressure for this system should be at 120 psi, for this is the designe pressure, the...
I think that for the wireing diagrams any possible help is given.
About 30 years ago I had to put together the cut harneses of M-series trucks without the digrams, just search and connect. (The manuals were by that time not availavble in the amounts of today, no CD, no internet, you had been...
O.K., repair it, but; why do you go there with a 50 year old vehicle. Here we not necessarily understand this, at least a lot of us (some mud/rock dueller are anywere). If you want to go off road the hard stile, use modern stuff. The MV are to expensive for that and the material is to rare for...
Fuel filter problems are a standard issue for the zink based die cast mount is getting old and worn by corrosion. Replace by any mdern fuel filter system and the problem is done. We do that since 1992 if needed.

Hey you all,
the question was about black or satin black. They are satin black, not gloss black!
If you work on the chassis, use mouth protection, for the carcc stuff is anything but good for your health.
Repainting it after sanding use a civilian epoxy primer with high quality rust inhibitor...
To our experiance here you can use any HUMMVEE glow plugs. They are all 24 Volts. You have to modify the connecting harness. HUMMVE glow plugs have a regulator built in, M1009 glow plugs not, this stuff is in the glow plug control, as long as it works (Never over 120000 miles to European...
At least in Europe the PRC 77 was most common. But every other stuff of that time (1986) someway was also in use, depending on the unit stuff they were equipt with.

There might be a simple but not commen reason behind it: The injection pump runs empty through the fuel feed. I had the same problem in 1992. The valve in the cover with the selenoids is not good, so the fuel is not keept in the pump. Refer to page 2-94 #1 check valve in TM 9-2815-237-34. This...

Ventilation of all systems should be the way of its needs! Most of the original systems are not made for the distences we rum the trucks. So oil in the trans or transfer gets hoter than specified by the Army, so ventilation requirements are highter for our use than at the Army. This...
Nobody realy needs the cold advance if you are in the truck. This rises the idel from 650 rpm to aproximately 750 rpm. With good oil in the specified grade it is not neccessary even at minus 20° Celsius.
The ratteling noise is not really neccssarily related to the injection system. We found...
Anyway, nice modelling work.
I also have the problem of 1:1 and 1:35 scale. My hard is jumping between these scales. But my trucks must run, so time for the models is short.

Hey, CharlesKing,
I like your stile. It is not like most of the actual magazine models preshaded, not overaged, not rusty even at prototyps, no cract paint where there is no paint to crac, just the way I like it and I build my models since I do not know how long. These three Jimmy pics are from...
This statement does not help without the related pic. Without the pic nobody, I think, can do further recherches. No initial direction of seach!

OK, after the problem is solved I like to add something on this issue. Howerver, I do not want to start a new round of discussion, my intention is to help to understand some of the arguments from different points of vieu.
First: When I did read me through the pages I had the idea of a bad...
I once added to mine a simple spade clamp to hold a maglight, a center holder for a 1.5 liter coffee can with dispenser to have hot coffee available on long tours, a dome light made from a cheep plastic lamp with a off the shelf switch (house electric) under the roof powerfull enough to be able...
