No
No, this is the truck I brought in from Hawaii. The Cat truck is safe from the fire knife... for now.
The Cat truck will make the trip to the rally if I can make it.

New Years
It will be done for a New Years Day machine gun shoot. It is a carrot-on-a-stick for a friend that wants to buy a tow vehicle for his ferret. I expect to sell it around the camp fire that evening.

Thanks for the pics...
I have been looking for pics of an M939 with a trailer bed. It looks just as bad as I imagined. Thanks.
Just my opinion but the deuce bed is the way to go with this series of truck.

huh?
I am talking about wheelbase. I can park a bobbed deuce in a standard parking slot at walmart. No two point turn needed. Hopefully this truck will be similar. The comment had nothing to do with driver competence.

Super hitch Magnum
I had Torklift make a run of the SHM hitches for the deuce from a frame section I sent them to model after. Look at the thread "finally a 20K hitch for the deuce" to see more pics. The SHM is an excellent hitch.

Yup, need to move it over...
I changed the bed on this truck to a better one. I had not yet moved it over when I took these pics. Here is a pic of the same type of crane in other bed.

thanks
Thanks for the kind comments folks. If anyone is intesested, I had the discs water jetted to 23" and the stainless allthread is the same thread as the lug nuts. The retaining nut is an extra lug nut.

tires
The tires on that truck are 1400s. I too think bigger tires will look good. I have several beds from deuces I have bobbed but thank you for the offer.
The best I can estimate I will be shortening the truck almost 4' to copy the truck in the pics. 2' from the bed (14 to 12) and ~2'...
I built a spare tire carrier for one of the bobbers. My wheels make it easy to change tires so I only carry a spare tire instead of a tire/wheel combo. This is setup keeps the rain and crud out. I think the in-bed set up gives it an old school look.
What say ye?

Yup that is it...
That is what I am shooting for.
I have not confirmed but I believe that truck has a 12' bed on it. It is big enough to still be useful but smaller than the big 5 ton bed.

Thanks Chris
Thanks Chris. That is the input I was looking for. The links are a big help.
This morning I ordered more paint, tan cab cover and air suspension kit. I also put my driveshaft guru on the hook for a TBD fab job. This project is underway!

Hey Folks,
The M925 has not sold so I have decided to put it under the fire knife during my Christmas vacation. Will, Soni, Joe and other big truck gurus please chime in for some questions. This is my first bobbed truck with air brakes so I do not really know what I should expect to find...
Wow...
Uncle Mikey. I have built some jazzy vehicles but that camp trailer made me feel all funny inside! THANK YOU for the thought provoking post. I am kicking around ideas for the ALCAN 2012 trip and this trailer would be great. Please contact me off line with a contact number of feel...
