Steel Soldiers and Desert Rat visit Howard's

Chris, We forgot (selective retention?) to tell about the squeaky bolts on one of the Goats! Folks, when we were removing a set of mud flaps from another Gama. The two inside bolts were soooo rusted and stiff and.., well you get the idea, while we were removing the bolts they made such a...

    Truck, Identify yourself!

Gary, Got the PM. That's what this forum is all about! BTW, I found a bunch of sites with insignia information. I googled army reserve insignia and got a truckload of sites. I hope this helps those playing at home.

Devin, WOW! That looks really nice! I love the way you have the top pieces welded together. It looks very professional. Like my dad's steak, well done!

Rear...

Steel Soldiers and Desert Rat visit Howard's

WOW Chris, now that's what I call an adventure! Let's see the time table was pushed back by about, um, 26 hours from my computations. You've got to be incredibly sore! I'm still recovering from yesterday. BTW, my knee is completely black and blue from nailing that tie rod end on the five ton...

    Truck, Identify yourself!

Polverone, The insignia for my truck would look cool to me. Enlargment from this is what I hoped for. As a windshield insignia it looks really cool (well, I'm biased)! PM me. I'm trying to upload for you to see. Since I'm moving to Texas I'd like to see about this other one too.

Another note, all the wheels turn. None are dragging. We also have all the brake drums as well. Believe me, if there is anything missing it's a small detail difficult to remember when you're getting a complete truck together in one day.

Bjorn, So long as I get to drive her when my family and I go visit Maine on occasion, I'll call it even! Both Chris and I cut fingers and drew blood on her. We figure about 1/2 pint would fix us up ! Anyway, for me, it was a labor of love to save her from the wreckers. BTW, the steering works...

    Truck, Identify yourself!

Army S-4, I really appreciate your help with the history of the markings on my truck. Your information adds up 100% with what I found out from other people not familiar with the markings but knew where the truck came from at the time it was auctioned. They said she came from Oshkosh as some...

    A word on deuce TMs

I have the 209-34-2-(1,2,and 3) plus several others just given to me by the Evansville, IN National Guard in unopened condition. These manuals are HEAVY and full of incredible info. Think I scored? I suspect so.

    Fair price for a dropside?

BTM, Howard had a dropside M36 bed about two years ago. What the military did was to take two regular M35 beds, cut the nose off one of the beds and weld the two together. They also reinforced the welded area by putting angle iron on each side of the bottom bed rails (under the floor of the...

    Power steering questions

Bjorn, Good points. The only reason why I don't take my baby to the grocery store is just because of parking. Plus I can walk to the store. So considering I need my exercise, I leave all my vehicles at home. However, if I'm going to Lowe's or Home Depot, I take her with me. She'll be my...

Buddy helped us load her up. The trailer was completely used up by the Goat. As a matter of fact, the center tire is on the fender over the passenger side tires, the passenger side tires of the goat hang over the edge by about four inches or so. That's how tight it is! Bjorn, You're not going...
