The M101A2/3 is the best overall trailer the Military used, in my opinion.
I have had quite a few Jeep owners ask me where they can get one.
The trailers are tough and the surge brakes are wonderful when properly restored/maintained.
Plenty of examples on SS that show how guys made the...
Highly recommend you buy the ACDELCO or Delphi Pump.
I initially used a cheap one to get truck running and it lasted a whole two weeks.
Replaced it with a ACDELCO pump and no issues since.
That was over three years ago.

Definitely not stock.
Has the axle been replaced also?
Too bad.
The surge brake system works great when properly maintained.

Looks like a Bulldog or similar jack with snap ring mount will work.
A good trailer or farm store will have some to match up.
Those items when fixed should definitely make a difference.
I still recommend using a fuel system cleaner like SeaFoam.
Will keep your entire fuel system happy.
Looks like the tailgate will close just fine if it were reinstalled.
Any plans to do that?
I see the license plate attached to shelter so I assume not.
The setup looks really good.
Very well thought out.
