Bjorn,
Harold's place in the summer is like a real jungle. It's almost impossible to make your way off the paths when the weeds really take hold. I had to use my machette in several cases. I came upon numerous wait-a-minute vines that took more that a few minutes to hack through. The shade...
Bjorn,
I'm really happy to see that bed going to good use and not laying sadly in a bunch of prickers in KY. I was aprehensive if it would fit your needs not really understanding what you were looking for exactly. It's a really awesome feeling knowing I was able to help and see the results of...
Just 35 years old? Heck, the plastic window on my old convertable top is in better condition than that and it's 38 years old without any tears and you can still see through the opaqueness! I'm constructing a box to ship it in to rdixiemiller for the help he provided me. I'll let him have the...
M1075,
If it wasn't for the fact that is a real fire (brother-in-law was a volunteer fighter in Maine, so I know y'all don't play with fire), I'd just about $we@r y'all were having some fun out there in the brush with the trucks. So now we need more pics!!!!!!!
Chris,
Looks like you have a mini satellite dish in the back there  ! Just kidding  . Looks like you're having too much fun. Keep us posted! It's kinda funny, I went just the opposite way with my truck.......
It's well beyond lunacy, it's typical politics. Instead of focusing attention on stopping outsourcing of American jobs overseas, creating a secure border since we don't have one, beefing up the national defense and stopping illegal aliens and terrorists from worming their way into the U.S...
Bob,
Where's your sense of adventure??? Of all the people here, I'd figured you would try something like this just to see if it could be done.... (hmmmmm, maybe that was an unintentional "I double dog dare you" challenge....). I'm thinking more along the lines of swapping pistons, heads, crank...
McI,
I understand. I was just making an observation. I was kinda hoping someone else could either confirm or deny the rumor since you were not 100% sure.
Cten,
Change those fuel filters a.s.a.p! Once any tiny impure particle gets in the fuel injector distributor pump you may as well kiss $1200 good bye! I know! It happened to me. Those pumps are incredibly expensive. Plus I was in Terre Haute and had to pay a truck shop to pull off the pump...
I have a question for anyone with the answers:
Can you upgrade a LTD engine to an LDS or are the blocks mutually exclusive? I know we can bolt on some common parts. However, I'm looking to keep the LDT block and avoid massive re-engineering of the truck to extract more power. My theory is...
Cten,
Split rims are legal. Heck, the intermodal industry's lifeblood is 10X20 split rim tread. Legal in all the lower 48. Most of my 1.5 million miles come from pulling those pigs.
Cten,
I understand your concerns. Allow a former trucker with over 1.5 million miles experience allay your worries.
First, the tires can be inflated on the truck witout fear of explosion. The tires can handle way more than 60 pounds of pressure before failure. The most critical time during...
MM,
For the Mack and Cummins engines the 5-ton front end was elongated. They use the same mounts, just beefier, as the LDS. The LDS was smaller, so there was no need to shrink the 5-ton compartment down.
NMC,
Check to be sure you didn't jump your timing. It sounds just like the engine did just that. One tooth off is all it takes. You can be close upon looking at the markings. However, dead on is always the best policy. Just do like Kenny suggested and you should be fine. Keep us updated!
N3,
Believe it or not I still have the yellow writing from when I got 'Storm almost two years ago. I'm just patiently watching it slowly flake off as it weathers. But then again, I'm also going to sandblast and repaint her to desert camo when we have the money.
I've hit several deer with the different semis I've either driven or owned. As a trucker I detested hunting season because it drove (intended pun) the deer to the road where they knew the hunters wouldn't follow. The cheapest hit was $1500 for a new radiator and used grille from a salvage...
