It must have been some time ago when you were through here, oil has died back to almost nothing now. Housing is still a little steep but there are places for sale. They do have a nice big truck stop but lot is empty most of the time. Sugar factory is big employer now, some say it's going back to...
They bolt right up. only issue is you lose a little of ypur turn radius. you can adjust out stops and are good to go. I did not run beadlocks or runflats as I plan to do some highway travel. Have succesfully run truck up too 70 m.p.h. and tires balanced out smooth. I installed a 2" leveling lit...
1.Yes, HMMWV wheels, no spacers
2. Yes, front and rear bumpers were custom built- thinking about doing more for sale or do conversions on customers trucks to include Chevy, and Ford conversions as well.
I just recently replaced my M1009 with a new COMBATT clone. I've already done the 383 green and kind of like it but have brown, and black standing by. is a blast to drive and gets pretty good mileage out on highway.:D
I have 2 M1009 Blazers that I am scrapping out have used small parts and drive train parts to restore M1008 pickup. still have lots of parts available.
When I was working in CSMS shop (84-85) I did acceptance test drives on M1009 and M1008 trucks and they all had Goodyear tires on them. We test drove them to check for any oil or fluid leaks and then removed the rubber floor mats and sound deading and then put down textured floor paint. as well...
I would like some input from the Indiana guys as to how they are insuring their trucks. I had one of the big name collector companys, but I want to be able to haul some light loads and go for a drive ocassionally. After all it's a TRUCK not a collector car. Local insurance companies are just...
They use a flexable adhesive from the factory so that the hood will still flex a little with opening and closing as well as temp changes. You don't want to bond it solid or it will buckle.
I used to build movie car replicas a few years back so I have all my own paint guns and tools.
Now I'm doing resto work on all these trucks that I used to drive when Uncle Sam first bought them.
I used to work in a CSMS shop doing the painting of all military vehicles, started out painting the...
I'll try to get some pics of the inside it is pretty bare right now as the only thing in it when I picked it up was the breaker panel, the 2 front wall blowers and the amp heat extractor fan and vent. still has antenna door and video access door. it also had 2 sets of tiags for shelter...
