After Discovering that I inadvertently left hubs locked in for two days, I painted reference lines.
Did not like the white or red that is commonly used.
OD works for me.
Not going to repaint hubs anytime soon and left them alone.
It’s a working Ranch truck.....not a show piece.
Now a...
Hopefully you mean “flyable” condition.
Flying means airborne.
Get caught flying it, even a low hover, without the required paperwork, etc and you’ll wish you never saw it.
Saw a guy do that with a Huey.
Restored to flyable condition and had almost zero paperwork for work done as it was for...
But it’s a dry heat.........
Yea......So is an oven.
My wife’s parents live in Lake Havasu, AZ
Almost as hot there as Yuma
I’ll take that any day over South Texas in middle of summer.
108* plus 90% humidity
.....sucks
At the very least recommended it.
They might have.
The OP said funds were tight.
A Transmission service isn’t cheap, but it’s a LOT cheaper than a rebuild.
I would service the trans with new fluid and filter ASAP.
Might help and certainly won’t hurt.
Assume you checked fluid level already.
How did the fluid look look and smell?
Still reddish?
Did it look and smell burnt?
When was last service?
If the new filter and fluid doesn’t help then...

My Kubota and John Deere’s never need a horn.
PA system maybe, but never a horn.

Keeping the pond free of turtles and the coyotes in check adds quite a brass...
I bet the door failed before it opened.
I’ve seen demonstrations of metal tearing away and the structural adhesive holding as designed.
This is structural 2-part adhesive for aluminum.
Incredibly strong and is used in New helicopter assembly and is also used for repairs.
Different part...
The windshield is a structural part of any automobile/light truck.
By adding adhesive, it bonds the glass to the steel and creates a much stronger driver/passenger compartment.
This was one of the many items mandated by the NTSB for safety years ago.
It might not seem like it would work...
The rust will not be a problem.
Just keep the cap seal area clean and it will fine.
It would have been easier to have painted it before install, but nothing to worry about.
Croft is an excellent company.
I know about the other parts they sell......it just has me wondering why “that” part is so controlled, for lack of a better word and not listed and sold.
Luckily both of mine are like new.
The whole liability thing most likely.
Especially since it’s a brake system part.
Who knows.
Post a pic if you can for future reference.
Appreciate the update.
Very few were lucky enough to have some service paperwork inside their trucks when picked up.
No one will have the complete service or complete unit history.
You’ll need a time machine for that.
As mentioned, everything was purged from the file system.
Take care in sanding your bumpers so...
