I was looking to find more information about where my m1010 came from and what it's history in the service was. Who do I need to contact to find that out?

Unfortunately you're out of luck. The DOD/Army upgraded to a new tracking program a couple years ago and subsequently purged all old vehicle records instead of carrying them over to the new system.
You may be able to carefully sand down to the original bumper numbers but that maybe it.

Very few were lucky enough to have some service paperwork inside their trucks when picked up.

No one will have the complete service or complete unit history.
You’ll need a time machine for that.

As mentioned, everything was purged from the file system.
Take care in sanding your bumpers so you can read the different unit numbers.
Mine had at least four. Only the surface one was readable.
That’s the only thing you might be able to find out......what unit it was assigned to.

We all would like the complete truck info,......from the GM assembly line to surplus lot.
Unfortunately it doesn’t exist anymore.
