Sorry, I'm like Ida34, I'm the only green at our local parade and if I don't show up, then there is nowhere for the older guys to ride. The parade use to have them all marching through town to the Veterans Memorial in the town cemetery, but now most of the guys are getting up there in age and...
The place is huge, but some of the stuff is starting to get ratty there. That row of high speed tractors is all rusted out junk now. There was a decent looking sherman there when I was there 2 years ago. The 2.5 ton and 5 ton stuff wasn't to bad, it was all in one section together. The yard...
Welcome and nice looking deuce. If you need any help or anything, I'm just an hour north of you in the Silver Lake/Hart area. Make sure you get out and enjoy several of the MV show that are held around Michigan. There are several out there, the show in Clair and the show in Silver Lake...
It is a solid pice with the studs the stick off it to go through the brackets. When i broke one on mine, I drilled and tapped the crossbar for a common sized 1/4" bolt. It has held for over a year now.
I have heard that the tank in Shelby ran when parked there and that the Shelby VFW post pulled the motor. They mounted it on a trailer and use to pull it in parades and would run it and rev it up of the crowds. Now I just need to find the barn they keep that in, a little late night wrenching...
We have an M48 Patton sitting in a park in the next town over of Shelby Mi. I have often wondered if they would miss it if it came up missing one night?
As far as the cab bow goes Tim, it is not like a 715 bow. On a deuce, only the center section comes off. When you pull off the window surrounds, the corners of the bows stay with it and only the center bar comes loose.
I talked to a tanker who said that when he was at Camp Grailing for tank traning, they were pushing brand new never used mutts out on to the range for targets. He said they even still had all the new canvas pieces in boxes in the back, but didn't remove any of it. It would have been nice to...
I used 6 gallons of Gillespie 24087 to completely paint my deuce. That was to paint everything! I also used the paint recomendations on Army Jeep Parts http://www.armyjeepparts.com/ which are;
Painting Tips:
Keep it clean, take your time and enjoy yourself. Be safe and wear your respirator ...
Looking good. For some reason all I can here playing in the back of my head is the theme to the Jefferson's. "We's moving on up"
Great, now go get some paint and fix that thing back up!
Lee, you need a nice warm motorpool to keep your deuce in. I recently this fall added a 16'x40' addition to my already 30'x40' garage just so I had an extra bay to keep the deuce cozy for the winter. It pictured behind the deuce in the shot I posted the other day here.
It stats no where in the text anywhere that it is unlawful to remove it if you are the end owner.
1 since I did not manufacture the gun I'm Ok.
2 I have not tried to sell it or enter into commerce with it; I'm OK.
3 I don't plan to ship it to anyone; I'm OK.
4 Transport is a grey area, because...
The law only pertains to shipping and transportation. So if you treat it like a real firearm for transportation then there should be no problem. It is a feloney though to use one in an robbery. Carries the same penalties as if you used a real gun. So I think I'm good there also as i have no...
Yep, UN Company. They were top notch. My stuff arrived from HK in 2 day's! I will buy from them the next time I need something I can't find on this side of the pond.
Yeh, it was a full metal reciever kit by G&P that replaced the top and bottom pieces of the Mauri gun. It takes then a special front set from G&P that threads the outer barrel onto the reciever. It's make for a very solid piece, no flex what so ever. I have about $500 into it, but hope to...
I just finished up my little project airsoft rifle.
It started as a new Tokyo Mauri M16a2 and was then converted back to a vietnam era m16 with a G&P full metal reciever and front set, straight grip, and a Mauri m16vn rear stock with no trap door. also a 110 spring and a Systima 6.04...
This past weekend I took the deuce down to the local Christmas parade like usual. I normally take the 715 also, but due to all the snow I didn't want to expose it to a bunch of road salt. So I strung some garland and bows around the deuce and off we went.
Who else decorates thier trucks...
