    OK thanks I didn't know they had a governor in the injection pump. I had heard that some of them had one but I figured that was for vehicle speed. So if I hold the accelerator to the floor with the transmission in park it won't go over 3600 rpm?? Thanks for the information

    When I got mine I knew it wouldn't be a speed demon and they aren't but the the truck gets down the road just fine so why not use them and it pulls what I hook it to encluding a 36,000 lbs weight sled and thankfully didn't break anything.

    Are you saying that you drove a stock m1008 ? I wouldn't do that my dad drove mine back from way out the other side of little rock Arkansas And if we broke 65 mph I could tell the truck didn't like it. I put a tachometer on it and at 55 its at about 2600 rpm.

    The truck should have the original running gear. The previous owner said it was bought from the Arkansas forestry service. He said it had all original running gear.
