    The first 2 M44 series manufacturers were Reo and Studebaker. I am pretty sure it was mid fifties before they changed to another manufacturer. edit-check this: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?23365-1952-Deuce-Manufacturer If it's a 1952 deuce and starts with an "M" it's a Studebaker.

    Kit has nothing to do with the top. It only has the plate/brackets/rivets.

    On all the long deuce trips I have taken; I've found that the first 100 miles are the worst and that is also when you will most likely have an issue if you are going to have one.
