The transfer case PTO has a habit of easing out of gear? It is hard to get into gear then it will slip out of engagement, sometimes. The truck is right out of rebuild. The auto throttle control does not engage either. Anyone familiar with this issue?
Picked up the trailer yesterday, unissued condition except for the six or eight dings from the indifferent, apathetic and ignorant lift truck driver who was too lazy to git off the lift truck and spread the tongs to avoid dinging up the trailer and then instead of having a tire or something...
I would love to have it but that's a thousand mile tow for me, it would be nice to have two of them! And I know people give the engine a hard time but I have five of them and they are not race cars but they always get you where you are going and its like riding in a parade all the time...
Headed to Texarkana tomorrow to pickup a M105A3 from Government Planet for the first time. No going on the base so no paperwork hassle at least. Picking up at Tatum Excavation, see how this sub-contractor pickup works! They are only open Mon.- Wed. 9AM to 2:30? Since I am towing mine out...
Under 2 minutes yesterday when I called to pay for a M105A3, first time purchase from them, you would think they would have the on line pay up and running by now???
I had that type trailer pick up my 936 at Fort Riley, the air bags do help on the height and the dovetail is a real help! Even with the reduced height from the deflated air bags it was still a little scary driving the wrecker up onto the trailer(no dovetail and tiny ramps)!
I have a M270 now so I just need to update the current air brakes system, a lower deck would be a help, currently I am building a dock on each property so transferring stuff will be easier since I have a couple of 127s and a 128 as well.
Who would be a good resource for the conversion, I like the spring brake addition, it is hilly here! Would the brake manufacturer or would NAPA have a resource as to what would fit/work?
Once I get to where I can actually work on it I plan on giving it a good going over. It has has a long life, between military service and house moving it was the property of PanAm airways!
I have a couple of harnesses off of M105 trailers I plan on adapting to replace the missing system on the trailer. It looks like the air brakes have not been used in a couple of decades so there may be a little work needed there as well!
Yup, I got 40 of them for $500, hard to beat since I have two more trailers that need them! I am curious about the rear lights, all the cutouts are round? Photos would be appreciated!
