I was looking through the lube order as my 1009 probably hasn't seen a grease gun in a while and for almost everything it says use gaa. What is it and what can I get to use instead of that as I am sure an auto parts store wont have it.

Just thought I would let ya know that there is an error in the cucv wiki. For the transfer case the fluid is supposed to be 1/4" under the fill hole not 4" as listed.
But should I have voltage coming from those pins? I know you can add a tach and tap off the alternator which is what the diagnostic does, but I wasn't sure if I needed to use a ground pin for something else in the connector to get a reading.
Ya the diesel is more reliable since there are less parts (aka failure points). Fuel injection is also a big plus for the trail. You also have all the torque and power of the motor at 2000rpm rather than 4000 for a gas which is another plus for the trail. Keep it diesel. There are plenty of...
I just recently looked at my truck when the sun was shinning on it just right and noticed under the tan carc are the markings. What does USAISD or USAISC or something like that painted drivers side of the tailgate mean? And does anyone know what the tm is for the stenciling on the 1009 is?

I looked in the tm's and found that pins C and D on the STE/ICE connector in my m1009 are from the tach buffer. I thought when I hooked a multimeter to those I would get a reading that I might be able to decode into a guesstimate of the rpm but it reads 0 on dc and ac. Anyone else tried this and...
Anybody done it on an m1009? I know a guy who did it on his civvy k5 with a 6.2, but he had the ac compressor where the gen 1 is on the cucv and replaced that with a york one. Where would be a good place to mount a york on a cucv or where could I get a high electric one that has enough cfm for...
Throttle Position Sensor. It is what you have pictured. If it works when the vac is hooked to the modulator then I would check that steel line for plugs, pinches, or spots that have rusted or worn a hole on something. You could pull the line and blow a small amount of air though it and have...
THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED!!!!!!:-D:-D:-D:-D
It was the inspection cover not being pushed forward all the way when it was put back on so when the motor got a nice load and the flex plate was compensating for crank movement and torque-converter expansion the balancing weight occasionally rubbed...
