Probably idiots who just wanted to joyride. If they were stealing it to sell or part out/scrap it would have been hidden. Getting stuck in snow tells me they didn't know how to engage the front axle.

The fact that she's super busy is no excuse for her to just give you any generator. That might border on bait and switch. You paid a certain price based on a generator in a certain shape with certain features then she tried to give you a lesser generator. You might try calling the attorney...

It's just reminding you of the terms of the EUC. Letter or not everyone who has done an EUC is bound by the applicable laws.

Be sure to carry a spare ballast resistor and ignition module. These can fail without warning.

I frequently camp in the back of my deuce. They make for a very sturdy tent. If the weather is too bad to prevent camping in a deuce you've probably got bigger problems.
