I like that hinge layout. Low profile and tied in well.
One thing that i think is a big bonus on the 5 tons is my frame is well shorter than my bed. That would make tucking a nice compact hinge up in there easier. Deuces dont have dont have that option (with the bed located in the stock...
What did you hoist with? I have done a 101 with rear hinges and a winch to do the lifting. Winch was mounted on the tounge and a pedestal with pulley over it and a clevis welded low to the bed. Winch was dual function. There was a fairlead over the front edge to allow winching of the quad onto...
When it was much younger.
As for lifting the bed to clear the winch just change the offset on the hinge plate and use 2x wood or square tube would be fine also maybe a bit louder when unladen.
Theres one of the first i did. One piece hinge pin, and hardened spacer pad between the hinge plates. Later ones did not use this space as i had change hunge plate design to the frame to an offset.
My case equipment all have brass bushings... cat on the other hand uses some kind of hardened...
Brass bushings i am starting to see the hardened pin gouging the hinge plates. But its used for gravel, woodchips, and anything else.
The truck is now owned by a good friend who we do work for. He was the one we did the ac install and painted the 923 for recently i posted in the 5 ton thread...
I builted me a few of these out of them baby deuces.
I will try and get a pic of my hinges. I drew them in cad and had the plasma table cut them out of 3/8. The pin is a 1 piece 2" carbon round bar them i rose budded her till she glowed and quinched in oil. The one in my avatar has been going...
Im not a bmy guy.... that said a2 trucks are just fine. I prefer the old cummins 855 to the little 8.3 school bus motors. Ctis is great if it works... either way great trucks and superior to their replacements the fmtvs.
He said it will start on fluid but not stay running. I wonder how hard hes forcing her to run. I know a lot of people dont like to but i will flat foot that pig till you hear it firing diesel. It smokes and clatters and clunks but once you hear and feel it on diesel it should stay running.
The...
Yeah.... thinkin a2 for some reason i apologize. I meant no offense to your 250 by calling it a school bus motor 8.3.
If you are getting fuel on the out side of the ip then id check for return flow.
So you have fuel at the engine side of the pump. Have you cracked an injector to check for fuel. Check the emergency kill linkage?
are you gretting fuel returned?
I know they are tough as ell. I think they are around 3200 tip if i remember right. I run the old case 1845 case's but they are getting few and far between. I may be going to a cat 262 next year or maybe if the price is right a bobcat 300 but theyd have to sweet talk me into a white machine.
