The gen 3 wont need it. With the Gen 1 it sort of helps a little.

I use mine in conjunction with the IR filters over the headlights while cruising with the nightvision. It puts out just enough to brightly illuminate the road in front. That old gen1 stuff can use all the help it can get! You never know when you might need a low light too, good stuff to have:razz:
