I went the keyed route from fed mil parts. The first one had loose terminals. They replaced it. The second one with fairly little use failed and was unreliable. Starter remained engaged after releasing switch, etc. Heading a different route now. Injector disconnect or something.
OK, so I have a lot on my plate and maybe I'm an idiot. I had installed am XM381 trailer converter for a commercial 12 V trailer connection a while back. That was the relay I was hearing.... Removed the brake light switch and it was pretty rough feeling. Moved it back and forth a lot and...
Interesting. It was with the Guard then a PD and I've been undoing their 12 mess. Maybe they put one in. With my tinnitus it will be fun finding it! It was puzzling for sure as I didn't remember one in the schematic and had to check to verify. And yes a diode in parallel with the coil to...
Hi,
Yes they were. I tried adjusting the switch, then disconnected it and ohmed it out. Seemed good, but wouldn't work. When I shorted the leads going to the switch the lights work properly and there is an audible click like a relay or flasher type noise. I just looked at the schematic and...
Yes, switch is "bad." Multimeter says it is good but it must not be good under load because it won't trip the relay for the brake lights. Odd. Shows <1 ohm with meter. Shorting the inputs to the switch makes the lights come on. I don't have a milli ohm meter and I'm surprised the circuit is...
Too strange, I drove the other day and noticed that my brake lights are on unless I press the pedal, in which case they go out. I think I was in service mode. Haven't had time to investigate.
Not hijacking but I have a M998 that is stock 24 V and was reading the TM 9-2320-280-20-1 for fluids capacity and noticed on page 1-32 that the starter voltage is listed as 12 V. The batteries are in series so the truck isn't a 12 V system. Did they actually use a 12 V starter figuring running...
That's interesting. Maybe I need to do some bulb surgery. Or just leave the little incandescent.
I did add an XM381 trailer light adapter and when I hear the relays clicking I thought cool, the relay coil draw will let the LEDs work. So I put them back. No luck. Just ordered a flasher...
Thank you for responding. If I had a schematic I can design a hack and share.
A little disappointed that a vendor online on the net sells various kits but does not share known shortcomings. Just also did a "pinball" hitch. No mention that the pintle stud is too short and/or the hardware is...
I've read a bunch of threads. I get it, low current and it won't flash. So one LED and one filament until I replace with a new LED flasher or just throw a load resistor in parallel on each side. The really puzzling thing is the indicator in the turn signal assy. It won't illuminate an LED or...
Are you going to add hydraulics for the spear? How about a round bale unroller off the back instead? I’ve been thinking of something similar but I have more ideas than time. Please post your progress!
I just tried the 3 step Novus polish after power washing and soap and water did nothing. Wish I had taken a before picture. There are still some deep scratches but that's good enough for me. Overall, the vinyl is now water clear! Prior to that you couldn't use the side mirrors. Took under...
Has anyone tried to add a hitch to the back of a trailer? M998 to M1101 to a towed machine. Specifically a Vemeer chipper feeding a M1101 with chips towed by an M998. A little bit of a Choo Choo train.
