💯 GUILTY!!!! I just figured... you only live once, and I am so over the maze. I would rather risk all and fail than not try at all. The action of trying to escape the maze is better than giving in to it. It's like that saying, "A bad day of fishing, is better than a good day at work". We are...
I know, I need to start one over here. I have been building our truck at way too slow of a pace, reading your thread has put my a$$ in gear lol. This forum has put up with me in the past, when I retrieved my project from Tennessee. If you want to see what a newb 1083 owner is like ... you can...
This is a fantastic build thread! Thank you so much for taking the time to post for us to enjoy! I am in the midst of a similar build, so your attack method is reassuring that non-full time RV builders can do it! I just read the whole thread, and I look forward to seeing this develop!

I am looking for an option for increasing speed without doing gears. Do the 16R20's fit without rubbing each other in the rear? I tried searching for this, but can't seem to get the search terms defined well enough to get this info, even after reading 10 pages worth of search results. Thanks...
I am thinking about running (2) D090073 models. They are rated for 381 CFM at 2600 RPM. My engine requires 745 cfm at 2600. I know it is cutting it close, but these are sized just right to fit between the cab and habitat. Thoughts?
Hi Guys,
Working on some new air filter options for a couple FMTV's . One has the 3116 and the other a 3126. Does anyone know the CFM requirements for both these engines? Thanks in advance!
Scott
PS i already tried searching here and google.
Glad you are making progress Dan.... stay positive my friend, enjoy the ride :) Don't forget to pull off and enjoy 6X6 in mode. You will be pleasantly surprised. This is just as much an adventure as when you are loaded with an awesome expedition box. Real world experience, nothing beats that...
Best of luck Dan!!! Sorry for the issues, but best to get them sorted out of the gate I guess. I can't believe how clean that truck is. Really stoked for you and the wife! I know you are going to stop in on your way home
What an adventure! I have been on a rollercoaster of emotion through this process. I have been so paranoid that my decisions were somewhat irrational and crazy. To be fair, you don't see too many threads that say "I bought my FMTV for 10K from auction and drove it home 3,000 miles and it was...
haha I know! Sorry guys, I have had so much work to catch up on as well as sleep. My body is still pissed off at me. I am working on my wrap up now, hopefully posted a bit later this evening. sorry for lagging!
I made Barstow, had it in my mind that I wanted In n Out burger, but I just couldn't do the wait today.... it will be a 2 hour stop :( 150 more miles to go!!
I think I am done for the day, I am exhausted. I am 10 miles from California on the 40 and about 350 miles from home. I have been experiencing some new noises and have a little fluid checking to do prior to departure tomorrow AM. I have a squeal coming from the engine area, kind of sounds like...
