My first MV, a MUTT, was titled as a 1980. I learned later that it was a 1971. I inquired about changing the title to reflect the year. The overwhelming response was "let it slide" and "don't bother". I did just that. I drove it, legally, for many years. I sold it and bought my Model A.
My...
I got to see the rig in person on Saturday. Pictures don't do it justice. Like Rayzer's Taj, you have to experience it to understand how nice it is. Scott has utilized every cubic inch of the M109 box. Everything is laid out and organized. His fabrication skills are far superior to mine. I could...
A friend of mine had a polydactyl (AKA Hemingway) cat named Mittens. That was my first introduction to that kind of cat. I'm a big time cat lover. Before meeting Mittens, I never knew they existed.
I completely understand why you turned down the offer. That rig is very daunting to handle, especially in downtown traffic at rush hour. The other kicker is you were wearing a suit. Suits were not designed to allow ease of shoulder rotation and elbow flex while driving a 99 year old truck!!!
I...
I got some bad news from Doc. He replaced all of the fuel line except for the 12" piece that goes to the top of the fuel tank. There's a hole in that line. The fuel pump is sucking in air. We have to drop the tank and replace it. :-( It's a 2 person job. I want to head up to his place soon so we...
It seems to me that you've learned some valuable lessons, young grasshopper. Keep hanging out with us old f@rts, er, seasoned MV owners. ;-) We want the Green Iron Disease to spread as far as possible, and are more than willing to help you deepen your illness.
:cookoo: :jumpin:
First off, welcome to Steel Soldiers!!
My advice, worth less than the electrons used to create it:
I agree with the advice you've already received. Offer $1000 to get the truck out of the guy's life. Spend the $200 to get it towed. Use this truck as a parts truck. Save up your pennies for a...
The front blackout lights needed a little attention. One had some rust problems. Doc used an old light that he had in his junk box to rebuild it. He installed a new wire.
You're right, Rusty and Doghead.
Doghead: Could you please edit my initial post and change it to the correct axle type? I would like this thread to be as accurate as possible. Thank you.
Sounds similar to my wife's Mighty Mite. The Mite fits her perfectly. I can drive it but my knees stick out both sides of the steering wheel and the top of my head is above the windshield frame. I look like a giant in a clown car!! ;-)
I have no idea how Doc pulled the seal out. I copied and pasted his notes and uploaded the pictures that he sent me. I'm trapped at my desk at work 5 days a week, which is 130 miles away from his shop. I haven't seen the Mite in person since I dropped it off last year. :-( I REALLY want to get...
