Congratulations! I bid on and won a deuce today myself.

I had the same problem with my heater this year and it worked fine last year. After doubling checking the petcocks, I discovered that I had forgot to open the lower petcock...Duh, but at least it was an easy fix.

Ditto on the xfercase mounts. You may want to check them alll while you are at it.

I resemble that remark, heck I can reach the tool box latch while sitting in the drivers seat. :-D Nice mod by-the-way.

If you have the ether cold start option follow the instructions in the attached picture.

My tugboat had a Cummins VT1710 (V-12, 1710 cu in diesel) and (2) 8D batteries did a fine job of cranking her over in temps as low as 30 F.

All this reading about 5 tons is pushing me over the edge. If I could find a decent 5 ton tractor in my area, I would buy it and put a deuce bed on it. I have looked at a 2 trucks that were for sale by private parties, but they were in very poor shape.
