I am thinking about buying one of Uncle Sam's old diesel gensets and I found one for sale about 200 miles away. The guy claims not to know a whole about the genset he is selling, but he did say it is an Onan 10KW genset with a Deutz 2 cylinder air cooled diesel with 3000 hours, and it runs...
WillWagner is far more knowledgable on diesel engines than I am, but I am still going to use an additive in my old diesels until CJ-4 has been OTR for awhile. Up until a few months ago I was still able to buy CI-4, but now it is scarce as hen's teeth in my area. It may cost me a little extra...
I am an overly-well-fed 6' old guy and I drove my deuce ~480 miles in one day. :driver: :driver:
Aside from a trip to the bone-crusher to adjust my back it was a great trip. :D :D :D
I have had my deuce for almost 3 years and I love it. [thumbzup] [thumbzup] [thumbzup]
I hope to add a...

IIRC - The Willys was tasked with moving a 20 ton consist.
Spare tire/wheel, left rear mud flap assy (the sheet metal piece), drive shaft from PTO to front winch and the PTO control lever and mounting hardware that goes in the cab.
:ditto: That truck looks likes like a good candidate for restoration. I sure wish I could find a truck like that in my area. Thanks for posting the picture and good luck with the truck.
That looks like a great setup for the engine draft tube. I would be interested in hearing how it works out after some field testing. My only concern would be that oil residue and dirt will cake around the seat after some miles and prevent the ball from sealing the seat properly.
I bought mine because I wanted a truck that looked cool, was relatively simple to maintain (No computers or electric whatits), has a greater load capacity than a 1 ton piclup and it looks cool. Also, I like things OD in color, diesels and trucks that look cool.
BTW - Did I mention what cool...
You came to the right place for M35 info. There are some very knowledgeable folks on this site that are always willing to share their wisdom.
Don't forget to post pics of your truck when you get it.
