Well i was honestly just taking it apart to clean it really well and didnt want debris to get into the bearings. Maybe ill just leave it be and spray it with acetone and air really well and call it good.
I did try with some aluminum spacers about 1/4" thick on each side like in the picture. I am using a 20 ton press. I have the ability to run 2-20 ton jacks but don't know if that will make a difference.
Im trying to remove the bevel gear from helical pinion shaft and im not having any luck. it doesnt seem to budge when i put the press to it. Any tips or something im missing?
