I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks going in reverse then dropping the truck into D to see if the rear will lock up and chirp the tires has a screw loose. You understand the amount of strain and pressure this puts on the running gear? Maybe for a professional drag car that is designed to do so, but...
wait, drop it in D to see it lock? Your mechanic is dumb. Jack up the rear of the truck and rock one tire and see if the other side locks up or not. If it does, sweet, if not, it no longer functions.
bought a 10ft antenna setup! Stoked to put it on when all the parts start rolling in.
Also searched lowes/home depot for spray paint.. no luck. I guess it's off to wal mart!
you live in the #1 state for licensing and titling anything. That's where all my friends used to license and title cars that were imported into the US but were not ever made for the streets in US.
thread replies are hit or miss, but it could have been your yellow typing was a pain to read rofl
welcome to the site! I also have a m1009 and I love it. Thank you for serving, it really does mean a lot.
not planning on putting the plates on my CUCV, but at Miramar, the CUCV's that stay on base that I've seen all have govt. plates... but they're the never expiring ones. I don't see a reason for the plates to expire... seems like another useless expense that our country doesn't need.
thank you all. Interesting how it's been on this truck ever since since it's initial field station was at Beachmasters Unit 1 at Coronado.
Cheers! I love both the SR71 and A12 models! I wish I could still have footage of any of the NASA models flying
big day. Took out a lot of aftermarket wiring that the PO did. Took off the aftermarket foglams and all of it's circuitry. bundled up the wiring for an aftermarket radio that is no longer present, then started wet sanding all of the old paint. It's awesome. I can start to see the original OD...
I was wondering if any of your trucks came with these on the front bumper. I did a few searches and couldn't find anything, let alone pictures. Is this what the front license plate would be referred as on base vehicles?
Thank you
lol just looked through all the service history, and apparently in 2003 the Cucv was hit by a HMMWV. Funny, they never replaced any of the parts on the Cucv rofl
nice and easy. He met me at the train station and I looked over the truck, he showed me everything, we signed papers and went away. I stopped for some diesel and when I went to start back up the truck would just keep cranking, which was weird since when I first started the truck it went like it...
picking up my first MV! It's in rough shape engine specifically, will need rebuild eventually, but interior is great and not sure on exterior but I'll find out. Ex Navy M1009. MV's are slim pickings in San Francisco/Bay Area so I'm doing my best! Pics should be up within the next 3 hours
