Noticed this nicely cut out section of the drivers pillar that is intact on my other M998's. Any idea what was in that location that the military or Bubba felt the need to cut out prior to transfer to me?
Thank you for that. Off to order stencils and paint masks from Team Delta. I've come up with some unit numbers that were MP unit at Ft. Rucker in AL where this M998 was obtained.
Getting M998 ready for Veterans Day events and markings are in order. Can't locate web site or data base to help with acquiring estimated hood registration number based on data plate info. Any help appreciated. Here is what is on data plate:

I bounced it off two vendors as well and neither can ID, so to the back burner for now. This estate auction also had 2 1/2 ton and 5 ton trucks, so it could be anything. Thanks for looking.
Picked up some NOS parts from an estate auction and there were 90 of these cables in a box of parts. All the other parts were Humvee, so I'm making a presumption here. Thinking maybe throttle cable, but pics I see show entire cable length is sheathed. This one is 45" long with 18" beint...
Picked up this seat frame at a recent auction where most of the vehicles were large trucks or M37's. Don't think this is M37. Hinge on forward support seems like it would be a front seat to swivel forward and allow acces to rear. Adjustable slide, so not early military. There were also a few...
Ft. Gordon in Augusta, GA is soon to become Ft Eisenhower and representatives of the family will be at a ceremony in October of this year and they have reached out to the GA MVPA for a MP Humvee as Ft. Gordon was home to an MP training command and this will be a static display during this...
Got it with a little persuasion from the top, haven't been underneath it yet, some hitchhikers with stingers are still lurking about. But, when we shift, the four wheel lever also wants to move with it, so need to sort that out. Going to tent the truck today with some bug bombs and retake...
Picked up two M998s at a recent auction, one runner and one parts. Installed new batteries today and fired the runner right up and it sounds great. Trans in neutral and when I went to put it in gear, the shift lever button is up and out but will not depress. Put some WD40 on it and tapped...
I used a 1/4" box end wrench and they came off. I'll pull the hinges off the other M998 and mount them in preperation for the soft doors. Maybe this thread will help the next guy.
Yes, it is the 12 point size that I need. If it is not a special tool, thn I need to purchase a 12 point socket and don't need a whole set. But...if I have to, I have to. All my 1/4" drive sockets are six sided and I can't find one that grabs without slipping and I don't want to round these over.
Picked up two M998s, one a two door and one a four door and one runs and one does not and I want to switch the body panels around to get a running four man soft top. Anyway, the two rear door filler panels are held in place with a slotted fastener that uses the rear seat back fastening system...
I know most people are interested in the width of a Humvee from tire to tire, but I'm building a lean to pole barn while my M998 is in the shop and not on site. I want to make one bay wide enough to handle the M998. Anyone know what the width is from outside mirror to outside mirror? I know...
Transferred slant back from 1151 to my 998. Inside the 1151 rear tub were two jerry can mounts and one Scepter water can mount. I'd like to transfer the hardware to the 998, but have some questions first. In the pics, the two mounts on the drivers side, one fuel and one water, have what...
This is our M998 marked for USMC. Son wanted some black accents that are not military correct, so black vinyl on black bumper would not be my first choice but it shows up OK on OD Green. If we were to highlight the AMGeneral logo, it would be in black for this truck.
We took the ring off and laid it on this plate and rotated it every way we could and the most bolt holes we could catch was four out of 16. And, the ones that were off were not close. With this hatch being an Oshcosh product, we are thinking a different vehicle all together. I have seen the...
