Personally I would get it to start and run first just dont run it long with no coolant. I have dry run vehicles for less than a minute with no ill effects. Just don't let it run long and let it cool down after before starting again until you get the radiator addressed
Have both and love both for different reasons. The deuce is almost bullet proof as long as you don't abuse it and keep up with the TM's, but it's slower and smaller than a 5 ton and has no power steering (unless you got lucky and had an airomatic on it) I like the 5 speed in a deuce too. The 5...
Search for the diameter I don't remember off hand. I would guess about 4-5 feet would be enough. Then you would have some to replace all the old fuel line connections once she runs ;-)
oil depends on what color it is for the trans if its red its dextron if its gold its 10wt as said above 15/40 for the oil which is standard for most diesel trucks. Vibration could be a lot of things from a stuck brake to unbalanced drive shaft, bad trans, bad tire, low tire. You will need to do...
ATF is the best diesel fuel you can buy. Typically we add some to blended fuel to make it run better. There is a lot you can run in these trucks search alternative fuels when you get it running. It's amazing. You may never want a gasser again.
The above is not true for biodiesel from the PUMPS as it is up to ASTM standards and neutral pH. HOWEVER it will clean ALL the crap out of your tank and you will most likely plug your filter immediately. Just so you know. Any biodiesel made at home is likely NOT washed thus not neutral pH and is...
You may want to go ahead and replace the line to the IP as it may be dry rotted. If it is it will never prime. The IP (injection pump) is under the air intake and is a PITA to get to. Just follow the rubber line from the filter assembly to the engine.
Simple. Find where the line goes into the square filter housing from the tank and connect a new piece of hose to the filter housing. You will need a hose clamp and the right sized hose to pull from your clean container. Or you can run directly from the container into the IP but then you risk...
+1 for the fuel can as it is a known quantity and will eliminate a lot of troubleshooting. As long as it is clean you could bypass the filter or you could just do the spin on filter mod and not worry about it.
