Things for a "n00b" to look for in a deuce

Wow- that is interesting. How often has that happened?

Gone over the rainbow to visit Dorothy and Toto

Ha-- you say 'over the rainbow'- I say down the rabbit hole w/Alice! We are in the same 'level 2' stage- the holding pattern, awaiting our first EUC. Best of luck and I hope we get our papers soon- an early part of our '12 steps...' Dave

This guy gets my vote & You Tube on GL

This GL employee- or whomever came up with the idea- will (could) change the way we view gl auctions. This could be a big improvement for them. These videos are dark and poor production quality- but that will evolve. These guys get my kudos. How would you like a 'walk around' of the MV as part...

    newbie from South Denver area

Follow those orders private- or you'll end up in the enlisted mens barracks... I'll bet your kids will love that deuce. Welcome- good to see we're adding to the ranks... 'west of the Mississippi' Dave

M35A3 from GA to WA, I need ideas.

I'm not saying that shipping is not a good option to consider- but that's still $4000. For me, the adventure would be worth something. Consider it R&R. I go elk hunting every year and pay a lot to hike and sweat and freeze. Driving a deuce would have to be better! You can drive that deuce...

M35A3 from GA to WA, I need ideas.

Lone- when you run a map-quest search- try a route that includes Utah. (This link shows the route). It changes the return trip to a more southerly route. Good to stay south this time of year, but best of all- you will be passing Boyce Equipment in Ogden, UT. Worth stopping and meeting them and...

How much is a complete 12k service worth?

A local shop charges $85/hour plus parts. Keep in mind- that is for experts with a good reputation for fast work. Myself- I would like to have a choice (as mentioned earlier) as to whether the work is included or if I could opt out. If I'm looking to buy in the winter- I'd pay to have it done!!!

3 M1009's recovered today from "The Ranch"

Welcome gwag- I thought I was the best lurker- but you win! I looked up Lemmon, SD on the map- you are waaaay out there. If you can make a living selling cars there- you are good and I admire you. I took interest in your post as I am waiting for the EUC to clear on a gl deuce at Ellsworth...

    What is this? image attached

Brian- you can have one of these for a spare. I'll bring one into town later this spring. I'm in Utah today, finishing up some business, and heading back to Mesquite in about an hour. Too dang cold up here. PM me with your phone number and I'll call you next time I'm in town. Dave

    HELP!!! Advice needed with GL

My advice (for what it's worth)- try to get out of the $180 fee, but forget the auction and get in there and try another auction. Now you know the GL routine, and hopefully, the lesson was free. Worst case- it cost you $180. Peanuts compared to most things 'deuce'. Whatever you bid on- it...

How are you storing your Deuces? (Plural)

Ha- no kidding. Still has a half tank of diesel. The soft top tore off this winter, but still pretty good on the inside. It was always my intention to haul the stuff off, but now that the MV bug bitten, I've got better ideas...

How are you storing your Deuces? (Plural)

Somebody abandoned this deuce on my place a few years ago... might be fun to see if it runs.

m35-a2 vs m35-a3 whichn is better

I was over at Boyce Equipment this afternoon and saw an A3 back in the corner of the shop. They are adding a big jack stand to the frame- between the cab and the bed. (Very nice work I should add). Anyway- that A3 is an awesome piece of equipment- very impressive. I haven't paid attention to...

Help with some measurements (Rifle Mount)

Correct. My suggestion is: if you are going to have the correct era ar15- you should have the early style A1 model. Current model AR's are down in price, but not quite as authentic looking to the keen eye...
