I seriously doubt that much on GL slips by the guys on here with the money and the means to buy such things, lol. Even those of us without the money and the means watch GL like a hawk. rofl
Careful guys. If I had to guess, I would say they are related since they have similar features. It also wouldn't surprise me if they were kin of Mr. Mitchell's, so I'd keep the comments respectful, lol.
You can also use Airsoft BBs. They will last forever and not crumble or corrode and are real cheap. Just don't use the crap ones from Walmart. If they have a seam on them, don't buy them, they are made of cheap plastic that can break or crumble in time. Get the real deal. 1500 .20 gram...
One thing that is important to remember is that the Ouversons are not a stock replacement hub. They are made for the rock crawling crowd who regularly break stock 2.5 ton Rockwell shafts. They are plenty tough and probabaly see more abuse in one rock crawling outing than they will see in a...
If that is the case, it would seem you get more for your money with the Ouverson hubs. The lack of breakable plastic parts, especially those that require replacement during service, and just the overall beef of the Ouverson hub makes the choice obvious to me. Now I wonder if we can convince...
RE: AVM hubs
I will also say from my experience with light duty 4WD trucks that the longer the dial turn to engage the hub, the more leverage you have to engage the hub. This is very important in colder climates, or if you drive a lot in snow and ice. The longer turn makes it much easier to...
I don't think I would want a towbar made from a single block of steel. The pintle hitches and lunette rings are both forged steel pieces. While the laminate idea does add a fair amount of strength, I have to wonder just how strong it, and one made from a solid billet would be.
Looks home built to me. That or a proposal vehicle. I can't recall the military ever wanting something like headlamp covers on non-tactical vehicles, and certainly not the kind found in truck accessory shops and catalogs. Also, I would hope the military isn't considering using any tire from...
The MX-6707 base can be made to use with a CB. Basically you gut the base, install a common CB cable jack and wire it directly to the antenna poles. There are instructions somewhere on the net. If Mcinfantry is still around, I believe he did a writeup years ago at The M715 Zone.
For those who don't know, the M250 is one of two trucks that were used to transport the M65 atomic cannon such as "Atomic Annie". Interesting piece of history.
They make them, they just have a funky bolt flange:
