I picked up a couple of trailers for a fellow SS member the other day and I am contemplating a trip to Ohio to deliver them or to get them as far as Cincy. I'll be pulling a 26 foot gooseneck with a Dodge dually.
If I can find something up there headed south to offset the fuel back I will...
Me and Elmo made a trip up tp Redstone today to pick up some trailers for fellow SS member rogerm101a2.
Teresa and her crew were (as usual) on the ball and I was in and out pretty quick.
One the way up Elmo picked out a nice card for the GL office and some doughnuts.
Teresa allowed me to...
I may have reason to be up at Fort Campbell the week of December 13th (first grandchild due).
I am cosidering driving the M915 up there to take some baby stuff to the parents to be.
If anybody needs something picked up I can take the M870 trailer (to haul cargo on) or I can pick up either a...
This is for all you guys out there with far more practical fabrication experience than I have but since I have a wild imagination and too much time on my hands I'll throw this out there.
The 900 series 5 tons are coming out in large numbers which means they are going to get pretty cheap (as...
The EUC on my new trailer cleared today and I will be headed to Redstone Friday to pick it up (assuming I can sweet talk Teresa into an appointment).
The trailer is a standard highth 32 foot flatbed.
They have a dock that I can load a vehicle onto the trailer and I have a place at my LZ that...
Well me and Elmo loaded up yesterday and did a turn and burn over to middle GA to pick up some trade goods.......we then rolled back to Alabama to attend a rally held by the Dixie Division of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association at the Confederate Iron Works at Tannehill, AL.
The M915...
Someone in my area (NE AL) has a M880 PU for sale.....he is asking over 2K for it.
I don't have a dog in the race but his number is 256-363-2217 if someone is interested.
I found this the other day.
Background story. I had heard about this tank last year and made a vain attempt to find it....no luck.
Since I was in the neighborhood I decided to scope for it again....asked some guys reading water meters if they knew about a tank sitting in front of a house...
I thought I had two sets of legs for ring mounts.
I was planning on taking a set to the GA Rally and pimping them off.
When I laid them out it appears that I have too many of one leg and one less than I need for two complete sets.
Any ideas from the Peanut Gallery?
I am preping the M915 for it's voyage to the GA Rally.
Fixed the air dryer, windshield wipers and installed the air ride seats.
These seats came from some Freightliner cabs my buddy bought from GL Redstone.
I will have some at the GA Rally for sale (I hope).
The install went fairly easy...
I have mentioned this on a couple of threads but I hate to see good stuff take a slow boat to China.
An old logger buddy of mine recently bought two M915's without previewing or consulting me (he knows I have one in my yard).
Turns out they are both basket cases and were abused by DRMO and...
I got the fuel line issue with the new (to me) M915 resolved.
Reinstalled the driveshaft and took her out for a shakedown run.....runs and shifts out good.
The batteries were dead so I had to slave it off.....she now has four new batteries installed.
She cranks good but there is a clicking...
I recently posted that I was going to scrap out a Bolster Trailer and use the axles on another trailer (the drop deck that an expando van came off of) to lower the deck level.
Right now I have my drop side deuce bed on the trailer and I noticed today that a long bed would be perfect to make...
As some of you know when I picked up my new M15 some Ahole had twisted the fuel line off where it comes out of the injector pump.
I have a new line ordered but it appears that it is impossible to get to the rear of the engine where the fuel line goes into the block to send fuel into the...
I got these in a lot of stuff I bought from GL.
The paperwork says they are off a HETT.
Any ideas?
I'm considering using one on my next bobbed deuce or the new M915.
The extras will end up at the GA Rally as trade goods.
Me and my little furry buddy will be leaving AL at O'dark thirty Monday morning enroute to ZiggyO's new LZ in NE.
I will be dropping off REBROWN's van trailer in Mount Vernon, IL and continuing on to REB87's place in Nebraska to drop off a ROPS and pick up a trailer.
Once I drop the trailer...
I got the M915 back to the LZ today (no pics of the recovery but it was uneventful).
When we got ready to load her up we found that some Ahole had taken a fitting off the fuel pump and she could not be cranked. We used a truck on the yard to charge the air system and winched her up on the...
Well....me and Elmo got a visit from Mr. Murphy this morning.
I cranked up the work deuce to slave off the M275.....I left it sitting on fairly flat land with the E-brake on.
I went into the shop to get the cables and as I was coming out the door I heard a loud "BANG" and the van trailer in...
