...proof...
Well....now I can show the ole' lady that I was really there...LOL...!!! It was my first MV show/meet and I forgot to bring my digital camera. At least someone took a pic of my FV432 on the trailer. Too bad I was unable to get it off and run around the grounds...but did not want to...
...suggestion...
Might want to peruse the trailer forum for anyone who might be close and has a heavy-duty MV trailer. Other than that...contact a local rigging Co. or a towing Co. to place the equipment on their trailers...depending on the distance being traveled. I'd offer my M172A1 25-ton...
...get 'er done...!!!
Might want to contact a local tow Co. and have them pick it up and store until you can get there...should be less than $100.00...for a couple weeks.
...my first..
The 19th. MVPA meet at Crawfordsville was a great experience for me....first time at a MV show. Saw most of the vehicles while in service...from 45 yrs. ago...LOL. There were a a lot of historical vehicles there and the Ropkey Armor Museum was much nicer than I expected. Fred and...
...an M172A1,,,?
Did you win an M172A1...? The 25-ton low boy...? Did your EUC come back approved already....? Won't bore you with a story, but I also won one of these and had to travel over 900 miles to VA to pick it up. You are going to need a semi to haul it around anyway...may as well...
...may be some....
There may be those who are willing to offer advice...but not be willing to actually get out there and do something. Some don't want to be called upon. On the other-hand...all one needs to do to obtain some assistance.... is start a post with a request. Most time's there are...
...wide open...
Frodo...left yourself wide open for the abuse...LOL. O....yeah...Frodo is old English for..."Tanks a lot"....LOL. I could not help myself....LOL....
The Solex carb on my FV432 just died and need a carb kit to rebuild. It's for the Rolls-Royce 8-cyl gas engine...believe part #FV148936...? There are a pot-load of #'s on the body. Got to get some stick time and get it back up on the trailer for the Ropkey MV show. Anyone got a kit I can...
...done it before...
Had to do this in KY to IN trip...350 mi. trip. Put the best trailer w/best tires on the ground. Have someone w/forklift turn other trailer over..flip it up-side-down and put on top of first trailer. Used wood stakes where bows go and mated them together on all four...
...BTT...for Ropkey..
Anyone N.,E. or W. need to convoy....? Need to pick up anyone on the way down thru Kokomo on #31 to #32...? Hope to see you there....!!!
....Ahhhh.... British armor...
Got to add my 2-cents. Own both a Brit Ferret (1956) and the Brit FV432 APC (1965). Both have Rolls-Royce engines...a straight 6-cyl. in the Ferret and a straight 8-cyl. in the FV432. They guzzle gas (thank God...regular gas),are a pain to maintain...more so than...
...maybe not..?
That hunk of iron may not be a 'money-maker' as a commercial vehicle...but I could/would use it for hauling my stuff around. Check your PM's....have I got a deal for you...LOL...!!
...reminds me...
That tank reminds me about all the FA weapons brought back thru the years after all our wars. If not registered and put on the registry w/BATF...they are illegal. What would it take for an individual to get this tank out of there...? Who actually owns this piece of...
...just wishing...
Too bad you are not about 150 mi. NE near South Bend,IN. Been looking for an opportunity like this. My present location is a bit small....too many vehicles and stuff. George Carlin (RIP) said it all...." we all get a bigger place to put our stuff ...and then get MORE STUFF...!!"
...now I'm interested....
Looked thru the whole thread. Froto has not posted for about three mo. on this tank project. Now I'm interested about why no one has done anything on this worthwhile project.....or have they...? An up-date...PLEASE. I'd close my shop, take a 1000 trip and pick this poor...
