Is there a u-joint that is sold at the big box auto parts stores that will fix the Humvee? If so, are all the u-joints on the driveshafts the same size?
For an oil change, will the standard 6.2 GM diesel filters from the civilian truck series fit?
Thanks,
Bryan
Dilvoy - good call on those questions you ask, short answer from me, I have no clue on any of that! haha. Those are the things I need to learn, and have never thought about.
I wouldn't have guessed I would need to changed injectors, pump, etc... to run a few pounds of boost.
No need to get pi$$y, I'm just here to learn. I'm not an engine builder by any means, just a guy who likes to tinker with stuff in my free time.
But to your point, even at $1,500, its no where near close to the $6k you talked about. They still aren't even in the same ballpark.
Here was my...
I do not have knowledge in this area.... but to compare a $6,000 upgrade to something that is probably $500 or less, is not in the same ballpark.
Couple question I have on this, assuming you have everything sealed up, would getting a turbo muddy or underwater actually hurt it? Fully understand...
Well said, Maverick.
But - to get respect you have to earn it. Calling people "FNG's", and telling people asking questions like the one posed on this topic is the same as coming to America and not speaking English, also run off people who can offer information that might be just as useful...
Get off your high horse...... comparing someone asking for technical help on a adding a turbo to an engine is nothing like coming to America and not speaking English.
If this question isn't what this forum is intended for, then why don't you get the moderators to delete it?
What you...
For what its worth..............JDMCM (a user on this forum), has put a turbo on a 6.2...... He might be worth sending a PM on to ask questions. He had a kit for sale for a while too.
I'm like you, I was wanting to put a turbo on mine...just because...but was finding more hate then help. I get...
Ok - so it is a different size then for the rear (guess I could have measure but, haven't).
Do you happen to know what its called? Trying to figure out how to search for one online.
Yea I was thinking more about that after I typed it....... Guess I will just have to mess around with it and see what I come up with, and how much it actually rubs. Not sure lifting it is the route I want to go either though.
Thanks for the info Sintorin.... I wondered about the backspacing. Guess I will just have to mess around with it, maybe trim up the hood if needed.....
Action - I have no idea what your post is saying, haha. sorry.
I'm looking at putting different wheels and tires on my Humvee.
I know the bolt pattern is 8x6.5. Does anybody happen to know what year of civilian Chevy Trucks that correlates to? I feel like I see stuff in the mid 80's with that pattern, and also some stuff in the early 2000's....
Knowing...
Can someone please explain to a newby, exactly what is going on and what I need to buy and replace? My Humvee wait light has always blinked since I got it............I just thought that was normal for it..... It always starts.
I have actually turned up the pumps on mine. It did make a difference, but I'm wanting more, haha.
I have a pretty decent ravine in the property I wheel around on, and before turning up the pump, the Humvee would just stall on the hill and do nothing. Didn't have the power to turn the wheels...
