It all started with me just wanting to replace the rusted out Driver's side fender. I then just decided to do the whole truck. I still need to do some misc patching hear and there but I figure I can just touch it up. I will also need to mask off the interior and paint it this weekend.
The title lists a 1961 Ford but I think it is more likely a late 60's A1. It is rough but came with a lot of parts. I will try to start it later this week and when I am sure the mechanicals are working I am going to tear it all apart and start the rot repair on the tub. The price was cheap so I...
Anyone know if the Lansing Michigan site has a forklift? I have to pick up an M146 sitting on the ground with no landing leg support. I need to get it up high enough to hook it up to my M818. I can use a high lift jack to lift it little by little but I was hoping they could lift the front with...
Lansing is just too close for me. I got the M146 on the ground to use for a storage shed and the other M146 will be made into an RV for events. I also got the M101 for regular towing duties. I just have to figure out why the bed is facing North East while the frame is facing North. It does not...
I am having trouble finding a media blaster. I need a couple of fenders done. Anyone know of any place in South Eastern Michigan or the Toledo area?
Thanks
Chuck

I am all set to be there Saturday. I have directions to the Main Gate but where do I go from there? We do go to the main gate, right? Any veterans please let me know something. Will the gate guards know where I need to go?
Thanks
Chuck
My 818 has a class II leak from the front main seal and the accessory drive seal on the front cover of the engine. Can these be changed with the cover left on the engine and the engine in the truck? Anyone done this job before on the front? Input please.
Thanks
Chuck
I finally got around to working on my fuel tank. I asked about tapping for a fuel heater in a separate thread. I now have found out that the tank side of the fitting will accept a 3/8 metal line. I know that the pickup tube does not go all the way to the bottom so the heater will get clean fuel...
I reconnected the drive shafts yesterday and decided to drive around to my mother's house. She is two doors down the street. The brake pedal was real low and mushy. I noticed it when I moved the truck to hook up the tow bar. The brakes were an on or off affair going back and forth. The ground is...
Think good thoughts and someone keep Murphy busy. Tomorrow I take the deuce to pick up the M818. Pics to follow. Guys in OH go to threat condition red.
I have a command tent and an M105 landing leg I need to get back to Michigan or closer. Maddawg is going to be at Aberdeen but I am not sure if I can get of work yet to go. Anyone going that can get this stuff for me and haul it back this way? Naturally I will kick in some beer/gas money...
I recently upgraded my windshield wipers and they work much better than stock. I also installed a Vic1 system with connections to my Ipod. To power the Ipod and other 12 accessories I added a 24 to 12 volt converter. I wired it from my convoy light switch so I could turn it off when not needed...
I got a tow bar from a guy in FL a while back. It has the multi adapters that have the 3/4 and the 1 inch holes on one adapter. I got the MWO kit to reinforce the bar. That is when I noticed that my bar is smaller in diameter than the MWO kit is built for. The bar is adjustable The smaller part...
After a couple of weeks my Euc is approved. I can now pickup my M818. I may have it shipped but will most likely tow it back with the deuce next week. Pics and story to follow. I also need to post pics of the upgrades I have been doing to the deuce to get it ready to make the trip.
This post only applies to periodic oil and filter changes. Not changes brought about by other maint such as a head gasket change or such.
The LO states to only change oil and filter when the oil analysis indicates to change them. They do say to sample oil every 60 or 120 depending on use...
