Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!

I have had multiple (5 or 6) of the new, hydraulic style brake light switches fail by sticking shut (closed circuit). 4 on brakes systems and 2 on air. I seem to remember recently a thread where people were discussing the low reliability of the new (I assume their Newstar China junk) switches...
I am happy to announce that the time has come for the 2013 Steel Soldiers Georgia Rally info thread!
There is one big change-although I am going to maintain a behind the scenes hand on the rally, this year, Swiss is going to be the leader. Last year, I worked myself to death running the...
So a friend of mine pm'd me this morning and asked how to create albums.
So I took the time to create an album and do a little tutorial, similar to my http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?59917-How-to-post-pictures-a-tutorial thread.
Ok, here we go:
Step 1: Go to your profile page...
Auction posting policy-MUST READ
Guys, we need to tighten up the policies regarding the posting of auction info.
30 seconds of background-for the last few years, we have prohibited the posting of either active, or upcoming auction information for a multitude of reasons. Some of those reasons...
I am adding a slave port to my dropside and updating my older truck to the NATO single pin style.
The cabs on all our trucks were designed for the older 2-pin setup and the cab side is embossed for that style.
All the single pin ports I have seen are the smaller style.
Questions:
1. Does a...
So at the rally, this guy shows up and says "I have an M38A1 that belongs to a friend of mine, can we leave it here and see if someone wants to buy it?"
Sure.
So I make small talk with the guy and take it for a ride. It has all sorts of problems, but it does have a lot going for it.
Good...
I am making a separate thread for the 12SSGR t-shirts, since the Official Rally thread already has 480+ posts and would be difficult.
Wreckerman is handling the shirts as he did last year, so I am sure everyone will be happy with them. The shirts last year were very well received and he sold...
Found these on the web today. They are for sale on a site, in Australia, so I can not post the link. If anyone is interested, pm me.
I am going to go back to sobbing uncontrollably now.
So I am in the process of painting a truck right now and debating about what to do with all the copper lines for air and fuel.
I may or may not replace the lines themselves with new, but whatever I do, the lines will be spotlessly clean when I am done.
So I have several questions and would...
So today, I somehow talked Capt. Marion and my Dad to help me pull the cab off a truck I am painting.
Much thanks to them for helping me accomplish a big task in less than favorable conditions (it was approximately 240 degrees outside).
I could not have accomplished it without them.
Thanks...

I am going ahead and creating the Florida convoy thread for the 12SSGR. We always have a huge number of FL attendees, so I create the thread ahead of time.
Anyone from other states who thinks they have enough attendees to build a convoy, let me know and we'll discuss creating a thread for your...
I am happy to announce that the time has come for the 2012 Steel Soldiers Georgia Rally info thread.
Please read ALL of this 1st post-it should answer 99% of the questions about the rally.
Also, please do not create additional rally threads. If you feel there is a need for a separate rally...
So a friend of mine called me last week and said "I know a guy who runs a scrapyard (not a junkyard but an actual metal recycling place) and he has some kind of Willys Jeep. It's military but before my time. They're gonna crush it next week, wanna go look at it?"
Well, does a...
I wasn't sure which forum to put this in................
I have one of the military 24-12 converters for trailers. Plug one end into the 24V vehicle's trailer socket, plug your civilian trailer into the other end and voila, the trailer's 12V stuff works fine.
However, I dropped a tie rod end...
So we all know that the brake and clutch pedals are adjustable in our M44 series trucks (right? :-P).
My '87 A2C had really high pedals, I am only 5'10" and I could barely drive it on the way home.
I went to adjust them yesterday, assuming they had been adjusted out all the way (as high as...
I wanted to thank mdmorgan and mdmorganwife for helping clintogf and I out by recovering 2 trucks from Warner Robins and holding them at their beautiful estate. They were very gracious hosts and very helpful.
I had complete trust that the trucks would be properly moved and was not...
This is the official multimedia thread for the 2011 Steel Soldiers Georgia Rally (11SSGR). Please add all your pictures and videos of the rally to this thread.
I am sorry I could not do this last night. Time is a funny thing.
I will attempt to repent by adding my pictures I took today with...
Potentially need 1, possibly 2 Deuces picked up in Jacksonville and transported to Atlanta (30084)/Athens (30666) area. Probably won't be available for pickup for at least 3 weeks, maybe more. Would need to be picked up from Jacksonville DRM/GL (meaning the shipper would have to accommodate...
