    When to lock front hubs

My "Rule of Thumb" is if I think I'm gonna need 4 wheel drive. I lock em in!! If I end up not needing them, it's just a bonus!! It's not a daily driver so no worry about on-road issues. When I lock them in I usually do a "once around" the vehicle, with one of the sons driving while I check the...

    starting problems

Before you get blasted by everyone else...... do a search on the site. This topic has been covered... over and over and over Do some reading, learn a little and then ask questions. Good first place to start is the Technical Manuals... Also covered on the site I will anser one of the...

Wire feed welder (review I guess)

Welded before, but need to get back into it. I'm looking at the Miller Auto 212. I like the idea of set and forget when welding. I'm mostly welding mild steel, up to 1/4 inch thick. Want something that's portable and will work off the bed of the truck. It can be 110 or 220 volt. I also have some...

    m1008 auxliry fuel tank

Great install, BUT..... Some states don't allow this type of "open" system.... I hooked an aux tank to my GMC 3500, but it is isolated from the main tank by an electric valve. The installer explained that Texas does not allow an aux tank, without isolation from the main tank. The issue...

    Extra batterys?

Good catch wreckerman!! Deep Cycle Marine batteries is exactly what you need. Now the question is, Can you find that big of a deep cycle battery with the amp/hr draw required? If you mount them inside the vehicle, you also need to vent them outside, the outgassing would not be a good thing as...

    Extra batterys?

If you have that kind of load that you will use for an extended time, you will want to make sure you connect through a 1-2 switch that allows you to switch between battery "banks". When you have finished using the Aux batteries and if they don't have enough to start the truck, you can switch to...

    Extra batterys?

WHY in the world do you want to add 2 more batteries to the truck???? These things have massive reserve capacity batteries in them already. We used to run our radios for hours without ever starting the vehicles. Mil radios were big AMP hogs, during use.....

    When to lock front hubs

"I know you were waiting for this. Read the -10 TM. It does a great job of telling you how to start, drive and stopthe truck and how to work everything on it along with everything that could have been on the truck. " Kinda harsh on the guy Tim, you presume he hasn't read the TM like SOOOO many...

    Off-road capabilities?

It's all relative to what you do to the stock vehicle. If you put 33's on it you get a little better clearance, put 37's and a 6" lift then even better, but you sacrifice driveability with the more height you try to get, also need to consider changes in driveshaft angle and other issues. More...

What happens if I dont pay Government Liquidation?

Most GL sites will work with you on the 10 day window, so if you want the item, your choice. If you dump the item, you still end up paying them something for the PLEASURE..... of not doing business with them. I think you can fax the payment info to them, they will have the correct info and...

    Door Locks

I just replaced the door locks on my M1009 with the cylinders from LMC. The issue is that the cylinders only allow the key to be removed when the door is locked! You unlock the door, but the key will not come out of the cylinder..... you have to re-lock the door to get the key out.... WHAT HAVE...

    DOGHEAD RELAY Part Number

BLUE2, I was IN, 21 years in! I too had to deal with the constant shortage of parts for my Company vehicles, M60A3's, M901's, M113's, dueces, 5-tons and everything else. Amazing how much difference some 2cycle makes.

I've been using the oil I pull out of it, and my other vehicles, with each oil change..... I run it through 2 - 10 micron filters that I rigged up and works just great. Anybody see an issue with running the old oil and saving money? I put in about 1 quart every fill up
