I don't have an answer to any of your questions, but I do have some potentially helpful insight on the output side of the Allison AT545.
In the first picture below you can see the factory Deuce middle driveshaft that fits between the Spicer 3053A transmission output flange and transfer case...
In the video below it took me from the 0:17 mark to the 0:45 mark to accelerate 0-50 mph (GPS verified speedometer). That's 28 seconds! 13,600 lbs.
And who says the 5.9L Cummins 12 valve is too small for a M35A2? :clinto:

Things I notice about this picture:
- GPS indicated 72mph in a 1969 M35A2
- one hand on the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock position
- rain on the windshield

I bought a bearing packer from one of the local parts stores. Very easy to use and doesn't make a mess. Note the deuce wheel bearings barely fit, but they do!
