I too am interested in going in this direction... and have wondered the same. I believe that this will be more and more relevant in the future as the 14 X 20's are in short supply. Those (like myself) with working CTIS systems would like to keep them.

An additional benefit to this design is that when you remove the generator you can store other things, (e.g. tools, chains, supplies) in a box that I'll make to fit in the lower tray. Win/win.

Buffalowana - I asked in another thread - but you may know... I was told by someone that has and/or works on the 923 & 925 A2's - that said when airing down for 'Sand' on the CTIS the 1600's will rub. I was trying to wrap my head around the notion of how less air increases tire diameter...

Anyone consider just raising the bed off the frame by using a 4X4 wood spacer on top of the frame instead of the standard 1X installed?

Finally got a fire extinguisher installed. Probably the easiest thing to 'add' to the truck. No tools needed! That doesn't happen often.
