Does anyone know what the physical dimensions of the head bolts are on the MEP-002a and MEP-003a generators ? The one I know is 3/8"-16 X 1.75" . The other one is not listed in the parts manual, just the part number.
Thanks.
Does anyone have or know where I can get a long style air-pac "air can" from ? I get one from "peashooter" (thanks Aaron ! ) but I still need one more since I my deuce is the Air Force M35A2C with dual brake system. Thanks.
Well I finally finished all the Deuce and Deuce Mod posts. So if I ever have any questions and some yo-yo says read the posts I'll slam him back with "Have YOU read all the posts ! ? "
Now for grins and giggles, I'll start on the 5tons. Just a side note, it seems we lost a lot of members over...
I have a 10KW generator I picked up from Fort Lewis/McCord . They told me it was for a "MASH" style hospital. The problem is that some pieces where taken off, including one of the injectors. I have not been able to find a replacement. Hopefully someone here can help. The engine is a "Hercules"...
Does anyone have a good source for the Driveline Flange Bolts ? They are Grade 8 1/2" X 1.5" Fine Thread with a 5/8" shoulder. I tried all the bolt supply places here in the Seattle area and the cheapest I could find them for was $4.00 each minimum order of 100 .
Thanks.
Aluminum PTO
I have an aluminum housing PTO that came off my 1952 M35 Studebaker. The truck was a decontamination unit. I can find no information on this PTO. Is it a civilian unit ?
Gerhard do you know ? It is a rear facing only PTO that came off the 3052 transmission. Thanks for any help...
This is how I use my MEP-003A and MEP-002A generators. When the power first goes out I use my MEP-003A, then if the power is still off when it's time to go to bed, I switch to the MEP-002A. This way I can power the whole house. The generators are hocked up to a 250 gallon fuel tank. I also have...
I'm parting out 2 1953 REO Studebakers, and both had this assembly in the air line just after the compressor. The manufacturer is "Westinghouse" but the language is in German. Does anyone know what it does? I think the first section is an oil cleaner.
I found a company that sells "Gates" fuel immersion hose for our M35's . You have to use fuel immersion rated hose in the tanks or else you fuel line will basically rot out. The company is " Motion Industries " . There email is www.motionindustries.com . The part number is #4219G- 1/2ID Fuel...
I forgot to post these pictures showing some differences between early and late model air-packs. The "Main Body" has 2 designs, the one on the right (earlier design) has
provision for an 'O'ring , while the later design has an extra bolt hole (not used by the military). The "Control Valve...
Hello Fellow members.
This site has allowed me to glean a lot of information over the years, so I feel it is my turn to give back. Here is the official manual on the Brake Air-Pack . It is part of the
"Power Brake Equipment" manual TM9-8601 . I will try and scan and upload the rest of the...
Does anyone know where the copy of the LDS 427-2 engine manual TM9-2815-204-35 came from ? I have tried to print it out and have had no luck. I've been able to print out all the other engine manuals no problem. I even downloaded the manual twice, just to make sure it was downloaded OK. I figure...
Last night I finished reading the threads in the modified deuce section. After all that reading I came away with some great ideas for my deuce and a lot of questions .
One: there are about as many ideas on tires and what will fit and how it will fit and what it will fit as there are members to...
Hi everyone, this is my first post to Steel Soldiers. I have been reading the posts from this site for years now and really wanted to get my own truck. Finally I was able to buy my first M35A2 just last June. I wasn't able to drive it home since I had just underwent spinal fusion surgery but I...
