What do you mean by "rear pto"? The deuce may have a pto mounted on the transmission to power the winch, and this pto can be found with a forward and reward output. Your question leads me to believe your talking about the flange on the rear axle, which isn't a pto.
No seal on the trans. input. Seems to be best if the oil level is about one knuckle down. When you run it the oil heats up and
expands.The input side has some spiral grooves that will direct a small quantity of oil back. You might want to drain a bit out
so it doesn't get on your clutch...
