I know there was a guy in the deuce forum that had access to vin/reg # database or has acquired the history re: truck use.. Is there such a resource in the CCKW realm?
I'm curious about the build/use histroy of the '45 GMC fire truck featured in the previous thread...
What kind of luck have you guys buying engines from GL? I see many Cummins 4 cyl units but not to many LDT or LDS's.. Anyway to gauge usage/hours..?

Seeing that the thread ( 'Its a shame' ) was locked FINALLY after 14 non-vehicle rated messages ( I susppose my last post was the 'straw that broke....)

...or I won't get an answer as too ambiguous...or too sensitive/personal..
In essence, how much will a deuce cost from another member or business?

Just curious if one mounts a bed / box /other structure to a deuce frame, can all access requirements (repairs, normal maintenance/ additional equipment additions, general access, etc..) be met? In other words, can you do everything you might need to do from underneath? Tire and wheel areas...
Can someone advise what this configuration was/is? A local construct or a specific type of M35? Also what would be the overall height would you speculate ground up and also bed deck up..
Mike
I searched thru all this forums posts (I think!) but wonder if there have been any manual transmission early deuces from the factory or is there a popular swap today..?
What was the reason for these hydramatics in the first place? I mean they started with manuals and then they went back to...
Curious as to what you all think about the 'refurb' processes that commercial vendors like Memphis, Boyce, Clark, Alfa, etc... I know you pay for the services they provide and condition of the unit out the door but for a person like me, who needs to buy an excelent runner w/ no issues (read not...
Does the mule have a power take off setup of any kind, or have any of you added this feature by chance? I'm curious as I'm wondering if the mule can be used for towing some sort of lawn mower or maybe help in snow plow/blower duties. Other than general hauling, what other uses have you folks...
