The wife would probably disavow me! Because she knows I'd have a difficult time saying no. I've got a buddy in Minnesota that picked up a M37 recently and decided since I'd mentioned I liked those and it would be a fun vehicle to have, he needs to find me one to start reworking. I'm being smart...
Decals applied, makes it waaaay cooler! Those little things add the "pop" to the almost finished project.
Seat frames painted finally, new covers arrived, slipped them over the existing cushions just to get a idea of the look it will have when they get finished up.
Rear seat is being fabbed...
Either way, I've done both. Easier out, but way quicker in. Getting the top seal in is of course tricky because of the crank being in the way, but there's a few tricks to make it simpler.
Drain the oil, pull the pan, pull main cap and replace the seal.
Well, it's been a while since I've done much, but I haven't been totally idle. Picked up my spare carrier, welded it together instead of bolting, just my preference.
And then noticed the mounting holes didn't line up, so had to drill new ones.
Got front and rear shackles, front mounts from a...
I dont like reviving old threads, but this trailer has popped up again in Iowa. Appears to be unmolested yet. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/864693090723956/
I finished up getting the correct fuel tank finalized this evening. After patching it twice, first time around, I let the rust remover sit too long and it exposed more pinholes, so I had to fix another area. Put two layers of Redkote in over the last two weeks and let that cure out good. Paint...
Scored a set of decent vintage plates last week off ebay. Next was trying to figure out where/how to mount the rear without having it look too out of place. I've seen a few people make brackets that come off/attach to the jerry can bracket. I don't really care for how that looks. No spare tire...
Initially, mine had no lights in the grille when I purchased it. Bought a set of CJ turn/park lights and ran those until last month when I finally got a set of b/o lights. I still wanted the turn signals, so I contemplated on where to put them for a few days and finally decided to make a small...
I had a slight boo yesterday. Took the A1 to my local club's annual show yesterday which in itself was a good day. The trip home however, was not. This is heading out.
This is on the trip home.
What makes this even worse, is I didn't even notice when I unloaded it! I was almost back into my...
Front b/o lights installed and wired, made a bracket and moved the turn signal/park lights and modified the rear light fixture to accommodate a dual contact brake/turn signal bulb for my 12V system.
So now all the b/o lights work as they're supposed to, I have running lights, turn signals...
Chased a wiring issue for about four hours today, only to find out I'd apparently severed a wire in the dash at some point. So, now I have brake lights again at least. Cleaned, painted and mounted up the bridge plate easier this week. Threw on the b/o taillights and pintle hitch as well as a...
Yay! Congrats on bringing it back ;)
I fought all afternoon on chasing a wiring issue. Come to find out, I'd apparently severed a wire in the dash at some point in the last few months.
I got pretty lucky with the condition of my entire vehicle. There were only two spots that needed attention. A very small spot on the driver's side and a huge area on the passenger side floorboard/cowl brace. Frame is good, body is good, beat to snot but good nonetheless.
Right on the grille. Two bolts through the plate into the retainer which sandwiches it to the grille bars.
First pic is a week-ish ago, pre-paint. Second pic is from tonight, freshly shot with Catepillar yellow.
Tomorrow I want to be working on my rear light wiring, brake light switch and...
