...heat. Hushmat has a product that's rated to 550F and is supposed to block 40% of the heat. Worth a try. This stuff is similar to the Dynamat I've been using except it's twice as thick and Dynamat is rated to something like 400F
Also thought it would be a good time to clean & repaint the...
...I deem this to be the only collour that would do my Mog Justice when you know the history behind all the parts that was used to build it.

I am planning a water tank above my muffler. I thought about adhering DEI hood liner to the underside of the pan that holds the tank.

Iv seen several youtube vids on that lizard skin and saw the db meter measurements, but of course that stuff could have been manipulated. Its good to hear about it from an outside user source.
hushmat is much cheaper than dynamat. I used a product called lizardskin spray on sound dampener. It reduced interior temps by at least 15° and cuts down on a lot of the racket. I too installed a 5" straight stack and should've went to a 60" to get the sound above the cab. Its annoying loud...
I used Raamat, which is a little less expensive than Dynamat, similar product. Then I spray on Lizzard skin over it with an undercoating gun where it is appropriate.
Porous mats and headliner type material is good for up high, but don't use on or near floor as will hold water and promote rust.
Nice. Should help keep it warmer in the winter, too.
I used peel and seal to soundproof my CUCV, and it was really good. Basically a thinner dynamat at a fraction of the cost.
.
That is a really impressive reduction in sound.
I would imagine that it will help keep out the heat as well.
Heck, it might even cause you to need to service hour cab heater in the winter :)
Update: The cab and is fully Dynamat'd, every surface. Also the firewall in the engine. Soundproof Cow's Quiet Barrier has been placed on every vertical surface in the cab, as well as the ceiling. The doors have Dynamat in the lower portion, that you can access under the panel. Previously, I...
...in the front first. I have some LizardSkin that I have not yet sprayed in mine but plan to spray it pretty much everywhere, and then also use DynaMat in the areas mostly likely to transmit noise.
Where are you in Germany? Can you drive it on the autobahn? I just got back from a 2-week...
Installed 150 mil insulation over the [properly installed subsequent to being rolled with ridged metal roller] dynamat 80 mil insulation. Installed remnants of neoprene exercise mat in recesses on back of cab using Gorilla Glue spray adhesive.
Ran out of neoprene mat, so going to do rubber...
🤔I installed the dynamat material on the floor and ran wires... I have this enormous 1/2" neoprene exercise mat I was going to use on the other truck to cover the floor, but the OEM mats were in good shape.
Why waste that?
I have a roll of 1/8" rubber mat lying around too; should put that over...
...other upgrades now back to working on the cab - though full disclosure, most of the work is being done by a mechanic friend.
Finished up the Dynamat on the interior as well as the engine side firewall. New weatherstripping. Replaced the front seat with HMMT seat. I need the seat to move...
...have a great name for the truck, but it is coming I am sure soon.
First up for posting….. Sound Proofing.
I started with two kits of 3/4 Dynamat Hood liner under the dog house
Next, I started installing one layer of KillMat. I did the entire floor
I also did the side walls...
Wondering same thing. I was looking to possibly cut down some horse stall mat from a cardboard template for the floor.. But also interested if anyone has painted noise mat ( fat mat/dynamat/noico) ?? Ill take any feedback also..
...what I'm interested in.
Has anyone made aftermarket mats like WeatherTech or similar products yet?
I want to use either a Fat Mat or Dynamat, then I'd like to install something over it.
I looked up to see if you can paint over these, and there's no clear answer.
I was thinking to rhino...
This is what I did.
I bought a 5X5 piece of wood we got at McCoy's lumber. Neither Lowes or HD had that off the shelf. I dynamatted one complete side and then used the extra at the top where my overhead speakers are mounted over the drive and passenger seats. The speakers are in a Plan B...
