The 818 has a 24 volt system. No adapters that I'm aware of. Instead of cutting off the cable you could get the female end off another vehicle and adapte from there. Your trailers will need 24 volt bulbs also (avaliable at napa).
So there is a # there. If your vin is the # on your data plate on your dash I don't think it will necessarly match. I'm not certain but the frame # is from the mfg. the dash # may be the military's assigned #. Let's see what the survey has to say. Thanks for looking.

I dropped the pressure in my steering tires to 25psi and I think it made a big differance. I was able to crawl right through some spots that other trucks would take a couple tries to make. The data plate says 15 in mud but I didn't want...
Oilcan's M818 did just fine at Haspin. He had a spare tire strapped to the fifth wheel and picked up a lot of mud. I was impressed with how well it did with no extra weight. The temporary cargo bed sounds like a good ideal though.
