    Welcome. Good to have you.

    WC Identification

I have looked online myself and didn't find anything either. As I said above, the owner said there are no dataplates on it to indicate any builder name, serial number, etc.

    WC Identification

Not a great pic. But here is one of the interior.

    WC Identification

I am trying to help someone identify this truck. The owner knows nothing about it, other than he believes it is a military vehicle. Naturally it is some kind of WC, but there is no data plate or anything else to help figure out if the body really is military issue or if it is a civilian...

    Finally got an MKT-75A

Not a whole lot special comes up at Ft. Drum (some months there are less than a dozen pieces of equipment that come up for sale), so you remember special stuff when it shows up. I have paid more than most people would for some equipment. You pay what you think it is worth. That $6,500 you paid...

    Finally got an MKT-75A

Oh so that was you? I thought it looked familiar when you posted it. But I guessed they pretty much all look the same. Stay out of my area! Everything near here is suppose to be mine! lol Oh well. At least I know it went to a good place. You might also want to go visit a local...

    Finally got an MKT-75A

If you need to free up some space, I would be more than happy to take that M1028 off your hands. I am a nice guy that way  Generator looks really good.

    My New M1028

Looks good. I hope she turns out only to need a boost. Any plans for her? Just a run around truck, or maybe something for the zombie apocalypse?

    so I think I want a tank

Maybe he won't notice if there is one missing  Guy in Toronto has a Leopard Tank with a training turret. Had it up for sale last year. I believe he was asking $50k. Cool thing about the training turret is that it sits three people inside, plus a driver up front. Not that ITAR would...

    Please help identify this CUCV?

I would have to agree with patracy, looks like a K30. One that they put an ambulance body on it. The badging on the side of the fenders pretty much says it is a civilian truck. Military trucks very rarely come with any badging on the outside, and if they do it is never chromed but painted the...

Reason for 2 batteries on 12v conversion

You need the two batteries. Pretty much all diesels (including civilian trucks) have two. The only diesels I have seen with just one battery are small ones in cars which don't require as much amperage to get started.

    Adding a 12 Volt System to a M35A3

Looks good to me. Very simple and straight forward. Usually the simplest solutions are the best ones. Good looking truck. Though I find it odd why someone painted the spare tire.

    M1010 gauges

Looks great. Really cool stuff. I have seen a few other people do this and it has always interested me because I hate the dummy lights in the older trucks. I would assume you put in new sensors and wiring for these? Would be great if you could post some part numbers or a link to where you got...

The Swede need engine oil advice!

Cool stuff. Never heard of it before. Will have to look into it [thumbzup]

The Swede need engine oil advice!

I would have to agree with Dozer. All the 15W-40 I see for sale is for diesel use only. Maybe there is some special oil out there for some other vehicles, but all the stuff at the stores is marked for diesel engines. Just did a search online for two of the stores I buy my oil from (one place...

The Swede need engine oil advice!

Even the cheapest synthetic oil is better than dinosaur oil. So you will be fine using pretty much any synthetic 15W40 oil. Only problem with "some" older engines is that some seals might let the thinner synthetic oil leak past them. Tired to put synthetic in my 1988 pickup and it did nothing...

    Not another M109 camper conversion

You guys might not have noticed but he last posted back in 2010. He has also not logged onto SS since early 2011. Don't expect many updates at this point :?

    What is this for?

Most every truck have that ring leg support installed. Both the M35 and M109 we got have it. As do all the older 1950's M135/M211 trucks we owned. Is something that comes standard from the factory. You can remove it if you want. Doesn't hurt anything unless you intend on getting a ring mount...

    Fabed a Center Console M1009

Would you happen to remember which model number that is? I keep looking on the tuffy site, but they have so many different models and sizes, I am not sure which would fit properly.

    Fire Extinguishers in our MVs

Got 5lbs units in all the trucks. 5lbs should be the minimum for a car or truck. 5lbs units are made to only shoot chemicals for up to 10-15 seconds max (if I recall correctly). Smaller units just don't put out enough for fuel based fires. Pick them up for about $50 with a vehicle mount at the...
