After reading the thread I did not know that the Marines were making the Growler fit the Osprey. With the problems, why was add on duals after drop or landing not considered as a solution, or maybe so?
Was the Growler a secret or embarrassment? I think by the little exposure that I have, it had...
I owned an 79 Grand Wagoneer that had 401, Hydromatic and quad-trac with what acted like lockers but maybe just tight posi's. Green with wood panels and tan interior. Even had factory aluminum wheels, 6 lug. Paid 600$ in 90 and should of kept it and did a rebody to a 37 or 715.
Another one that...
The voting this month is going to be a tough one again for me.
I am going to narrow it down a little to, green, red, tan , or camo.
What to do!:goodjob:
Need a little more information. Is your truck a 84 CUCV or a 83 civilian 6.2? How did the truck start, how did it run before fuel filter change?
Did you replace the canister fuel filter with an inline filter? Can you post any pictures of the engine compartment? Fuel pump, what condition do you...
Perfectly normal to have different shims or bearings to get best clearances. On any equipment that will see severe angles while in operation will have several pickup points to keep oil at the pickup. Also later on baffles or directional oil pan doorways are used to keep oil going to the pump...
For years lock and chain was done for a reason on base.
I agree with rekey the truck also. It is pretty well known that one key will open, start the CUCV. New ignition key locksets and door sets are easy to get and the prices are still reasonable. In 5 to ten more years who knows.
Is it worth...
Did you see the post, thread about CUCV wiring schematic?
That will give you something to look at and hunt down your separate components.
Good Luck, hope that helps.
Well you definitely need the purple to control start at the key unless you want to bypass to start from out side with remote start.
Find purple in harness starter side of engine compartment.
What ever you do not overload circuit, keep starter cables loose to pull off in panic. Have gloves, do...
The starter relay under dash by the diagnostic plug may be sticking. Or depending on what prior owner has done to the steering column the starter pushrod that runs on the down side outside column to the push relay on column may be wedged in the start position. Kind of confusing but the key...
Is the purple wire hooked up to starter solenoid or have you checked CUCV wire diagram in the TM's?
I posted the CUCV wiring diagrams to help look at the wires to the starter and glow plug systems to help get started. Takes out some confusion.
Thank uncle sam
Let me understand. You hooked up battery cables and everything ok? Then you used key to start and you clicked on key without engaging starter and the starter began engaging?
erasedhammer, honestly I like your idea. I believe that if you look around, maybe you tried already, do a search for the 5.9 you may find some good intel on
Steel Soldiers.
I have watched guy's at work do amazing things with the 5.9, but in Dodge Trucks, I surmise, to spend more time and bucks...
Well it seems that in your quest for simplicity economics are not a factor, but that is one of your requests. Almost anything is possible with cash behind the endgame.
The CUCV is a simple economical truck to start with. So why make it complicated?
An 80hp at the rear wheels, na diesel for...
One of the problems is they see green or camouflage and the freakout begins. If you paint it pretty rainbow colors or it looks like construction equipment, which people hate but not as bad then it is ok.
I still believe that we live in a free country, a Republic. Precedent should apply as the...
I would 6.5 the truck and keep it as simple as you can, cost. Take the 800 and freshen up some components.
To neuter a 5.9 when already not impressive when stock, is a step back in the power category. Put some cash into the 5.9 in a rebuild and find a Dodge to put it in. A tired 400k motor...
Thanks frank for posting the ozatwar site. Very interesting reading about early WW2 American Service Personnel serving in the pacific theatre, Austrailia. Still reading 10 hours later. Very BRAVE Men and Women where surviving is a daily event.
Thanks
