New Motor Mounts
I ordered two engine mounts from Amazon. The part number is Anchor 2150. They were $5.64 each with free shipping.
From Doc: These were tough but as you can see, they needed changing. Old and new side by side. There was absolutely no room for tools to change these mounts...
Yesterday, I installed new Sylvania H6054 headlights onto my M1009. I had one minor problem. When I removed the driver's side plastic headlight/turn signal grill piece, the plastic piece that holds the lower right screw disintegrated when I removed the screw. I needed a cheap and easy solution...
I will be at the Orlando Parade. I will provide the list of RSVPs to my POC at the DNAS Museum. The DNAS Museum volunteers are handling the details of the parade.
We will participate in the DeLand Veteran’s Day Parade with the DeLand Naval Air Station Museum on Saturday November 12, 2016. We are supporting the Museum, and as such we fall under their registration and lineup number in the parade. We will meet at the Museum between 8-9AM, and will convoy...
Mad Hatter - I think we may be a little short on space in our parade entry. I hate to ask, but could you please leave the M105 at home?
Thanks. Sorry about that. The parade is televised (ie, timed and every second of the parade is accounted for), and I want to squeeze as many vehicles as I can...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers, lonesouth! :-) OD is stronger than the most potent drug. OD Fever is incurable, and I can tell you already have a bad case. I mourn the loss of the green from your wallet, but I celebrate the OD iron that will soon fill up your driveway, garage, shed, back yard, side...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers!!! :-)
I bought my M1009 sight unseen. I decided to drive it 600 miles home. Looking back, I wish I would've eaten the extra cash to trailer it home. The alternator belt blew out in the middle of nowhere in Western NC on a night with absolutely no moonlight. I limped...
I got you both, devil deuce and avman. Our next event is the Orlando Veterans Parade. If either of you can make it, please PM me or post on my thread. I'd love for you to join us :-)
I have one suggestion for you. Organize your parts into boxes of projects. Clearly label one box WINCH, another TURBO, another HEATERS, another ARCTIC KIT, another TRANSMISSION, another SHOCKS etc. If you don't have enough boxes, buy plastic bins from the dollar store or Wally World will work to...
First off, welcome to Steel Soldiers!! :-)
Have you looked at Tiny Tachs? They are a lot easier and cheaper to install than replacing all of your v belts with a serpentine setup.

Skycraft aluminum sheet transformation.
Doc recessed the battery cutoff switch about an inch so the key would not stick out.
The battery cables run through the existing gearbox access hole.
From Doc: What the F---!!!! Some people should stay away from tools and machinery. There is supposed to be about 3/4 inch of thread for the large nut. The threads were probably cobbled up so someone in their infinite wisdom cut the threaded tube off with a hacksaw and jammed a short bolt down...
